It is the case, there is no maybe.
He grated out.
Do not raise your voice to me.
Gretta stated calmly.
She could understand his anger and annoyance right this minute, so didn’t take offence to his tone.
Let that one slide, he was dealing with a lot.
It may be the case on your end, but on Bellas end, she also did nothing wrong.
Im not going to punish her for doing what I, and Alpha Hailey, deemed appropriate to the situation, of Bella finding out she was pregnant the day before she came to us, to be our Alpha College doctor.
She did not once argue with us about contacting you.
Allowed it, stated you did want a pup with her, to me even.
We did follow all the rules.
Your end is the problem, so until your end is sorted out, I am going to consider this contract as still valid.
He was staring at her; he was a very unhappy Alpha, and she knew it.
But it was up to her, to decide how things were going to go from here on out, not him, not Bella even.
It may seem to him like she was punishing him, but in fact she was giving him the time and opportunity to go back to his pack, and confront his current Luna and likely punish her.
Or have Gretta go and punish her for him.
Go home to your pack Parker, and confront your Luna.
Present her to me if you cant find evidence yourself, of her deception.
Ill pull it from her if you cannot.
Though it likely wont be very pretty, Gretta stated.
Ill bloody order the truth out of her myself.
He grated out.
Good, you go and deal with her.
When I read your report, or you call for assistance with the 3/4 63 pulling of information from her, if you need it.
We as the Wolfen Council will make an informed decision about the goings on, and decree what will happen from then on.
I warn you though, there will be no tolerance to you harassing Belladonna or trying to meet with your son during this period of investigation.
Thats not fair, Parker muttered.
Hes my son.
You say that, but how do I know youre not just acting this way, pleading ignorance, because youve got no heir, and your Luna is of the opinion shes not willing to give you one at this time.
So, you have now decided to try and claim Belladonnas son for yourself? she asked him.
She’d unfortunately seen it all over her 300 years, Alphas would do anything to get their hands on an heir.
And though that didn’t appear to be the case, she needed him to go home and deal with his Luna before sorting out something to do with Whit.
Why on earth would I? he questioned right back.
Youd be surprised at what I hear and see, this here and now, I was expecting it to happen.
That youd one day change your mind about that agreement, and try to claim the boy.
Though I wasn’t expecting it until after he got his wolf.
She shrugged, thats when it normally happens.
She elaborated I want solid proof of the deception within your pack.
You cant expect me to just take your word for it now, can you? she asked right back That would defeat the purpose of the Wolfen Council altogether if we just took every Alphas word as truth.
Not all are honest.
I’m not lying to you, Alpha Gretta.
He sighed I dont appreciate you saying that I am either.
Prove to me, beyond reasonable doubt, that you had no knowledge of this, then I will believe you.
she turned and looked at Aston Would you please have copies of everything in that file I brought made.
So that Alpha Parker can take it back to his pack, use it as proof, of what we all now believe to be his own Luna betraying him, out of his rights and knowledge of his heir.
If that is the actual case, his Luna would have destroyed all copies and evidence of her dealings and deceptions, so hell find nothing inside his own pack.
Of course, Alpha Gretta, Aston stated.
Parker
Gretta telling him he couldn’t do any of that.
And that she thought he was lying, and he had to now go home and prove he wasn’t, prove it was not him responding to those emails.
He didn’t like hearing that, he understood why, of course, but Belladonna had to know he’d not done it; she’d accepted his apology and he hers.
She likely now also believed it wasn’t him in those emails.
She knew him and how he handled any contracts, he was a stickler for the rules, any deal that he made he held to the letter.
Point of fact if he had been the one to make that deal, and put his signature to it.
Known she was here within this pack with his son, that he didn’t want to know or claim to.
He would never have come here himself, never want to lay eyes on the boy at all.
In case seeing him would make him want to break their deal, it was highly likely he’d have severed his kin bond with the boy, so he would never know who his child was, not even if he stood in front of him, and shook his hand 20 years down the track.
If he had signed this contract, he would not be here confronting her about it, he wouldn’t have yelled at her this morning, or gotten annoyed and angry, be sitting here demanding answers.
He could only apologise to her, and he meant it, truly did mean that he was sorry.
He’d never yelled at Belladonna like that before, and it didn’t actually sit well with him even now that they were rejected mates; that he had no right to.
He could already feel the guilt of it, he’d yelled at her, snarled and grated out words at her, and for no reason at all in her books.
Which he now knew was wrong of him, because she’d done everything right.
He’d already received a copy of his Mating Alliance and Separation Agreement from Katie, before coming down to this meeting, had flipped through it to that pups clause, and he’d seen that Belladonnas words were correct, only pups born inside the Mate bond, were to be given to him, not those created inside the mate bond.
She had followed every rule to the letter.
He’d sighed when he’d read it and just put it down, knew he was unlikely to win the battle, but he had to fight because he had no knowledge of the boy and couldn’t understand why she’d not told him.
Now, at least sitting in this office with her, he knew why Belladonna had not cared to tell him the last time he’d been here inside this very pack.
