Chapter 74 – Abandoned Luna Now Untouchable (Cecilia & Sebastian) Novel Free Online by Lila

“Well. That’s… shockingly hetero.”

He tried to sound casual, but the relief in his voice was obvious.

Not that he’d mind if Sebastian dated a guy-who cared anymore?

After years of emotional distance and nothing but work, seeing any sign of romance was practically a miracle.

“I wonder who she could be…” Luna Regina mused, scrolling through the post again.

“Do you think it’s the girl who called him the other day?”

“Nah, I don’t think so. That was Celina’s friend,” Alpha Yardley replied, then suddenly paused.

His smile faded as a thought struck him.

Celina Moore. That name again.

Regina didn’t know much about her-just that she was Sebastian’s new secretary.

She didn’t know about Sebastian’s injury.

She didn’t know Sebastian had stood between her and the Shadow Pack.

She didn’t know the cake in the photo was clearly taken in the penthouse-and that only Celina had been there recently.

Damn.

It all fit.

“What are you thinking about?” Luna Regina asked, noticing his sudden silence.

Alpha Yardley blinked. “Nothing important,” he said quickly. “We might be reading too much into this. Let’s not jump to conclusions.”

“You just mentioned Secretary Celina,” she said, eyeing him closely.

He cleared his throat. “Didn’t she say it must’ve been a slip?”

She gave him an incredulous look.

Luna Regina’s face was clouded with worry, a subtle tension that Alpha Yardley immediately sensed. Without a word, he guided her gently toward the tranquil garden nestled behind their home. The air was crisp, the scent of blooming jasmine weaving through the evening breeze, creating an intimate cocoon around them.

He placed his hand lightly on her waist-a familiar gesture that, even after all these years, still brought a soft smile to her lips. “Let’s be honest with each other,” he began, his voice low and steady. “If Sebastian truly cares for Cecilla, would you be able to accept her?”

Luna Regina hesitated, then spoke with quiet resolve, “I’m no hypocrite.” Her tone was calm but unwavering. “When other werewolves choose mates outside our pack, I respect their freedom. But Sebastian… he’s not just anyone. He’s destined to be the future Alpha of Silver Peak. That changes everything.”

Typically, Luna Regina kept her distance from Sebastian’s romantic affairs. If the girl was kind-hearted and he was genuinely happy, she never raised objections. Yet, beneath her composed exterior, she had always hoped he would pick someone from within their own pack-someone who understood their customs, their laws, their heritage.

“Didn’t you once say you’d be okay as long as she wasn’t a criminal or a vampire?” Alpha Yardley pressed gently.

A soft laugh escaped Luna Regina as she nudged his arm playfully. “Every parent wants the best for their child,” she said, though the warmth in her eyes dimmed. “I’m not saying Celina is a bad person. Lian told me a little about her-she’s strong, resilient even. I truly hope she finds peace.”

Alpha Yardley raised an eyebrow, a hint of skepticism in his voice. “Just not with our son.”

A sigh escaped Luna Regina, guilt flickering across her features. “Maybe I’m being unfair,” she admitted. “But don’t pretend you’d be fine with it either. Sebastian isn’t just some boy in love; he’s the next Alpha. Everyone in the pack is watching him closely. The Elders are already uneasy. If he chooses a human woman-someone outside our bloodline, outside tradition-they’ll question everything.”

Alpha Yardley’s smile faded, his expression turning thoughtful. “You’re right. His decisions carry weight now. They always have.” He reached out, resting a reassuring hand on her shoulder. “But maybe we’re overthinking this. Perhaps it’s nothing serious. Didn’t you already arrange for him to meet some strong young she-wolves?”

Luna Regina nodded slowly, though the knot of unease in her chest refused to loosen.

Xavien

I had Alpha Sebastian’s contact info saved-social accounts, phone numbers-the whole lot. So when I woke up with a throbbing headache, remnants of last night’s drinking still swirling in my head, the first thing I saw was that blasted post.

Strawberry mousse cake.

My vision blurred with rage. That flavor, that brand-Celina’s absolute favorite.

The word MATE flashed in my mind, sharp and painful, before reality hit me hard:

We had signed the divorce papers only yesterday.

She was no longer my Luna. We were done. I had lost her forever.

The hollow ache inside me felt endless.

And then that damn strawberry cake post twisted the knife even deeper.

The papers were barely dry, and already she was throwing herself into Alpha Sebastian’s arms? After everything she promised me?

Jealousy and fury surged through my veins like wildfire.

I grabbed a burner phone, desperate. She’d blocked my regular number and all social media accounts, leaving me no way to reach her. I had to get a new phone, a new SIM card, just to call that familiar number.

When she finally answered with a cautious “Hello?”, I couldn’t hold back.

“Is this how you keep your promises?” I growled.

“You’re quite the actress, Celina. Couldn’t you have waited a few more days before rushing into another Alpha’s bed?”

She hung up without a word.

I stared at the silent phone, my chest heaving as the wolf inside me, Kael, clawed at the cage. He wanted nothing more than to hunt them down and reclaim what was mine.

Celina rubbed her temples after ending the call, a heavy sigh escaping her lips. She had clearly overestimated Xavien’s maturity. His sporadic bursts of possessiveness were exhausting, especially now that they were officially divorced.

Both Alpha Sebastian and Beta Sawyer had overheard Xavien’s furious outburst, particularly the word “DIVORCE” that echoed sharply inside the car. While Beta Sawyer looked taken aback by the revelation, Alpha Sebastian remained composed, as always.

He had already learned about their divorce from his sources.

A heavy silence settled over the vehicle.

Celina turned her gaze toward the window, watching the dull concrete walls of the underground parking garage rush past. They had arrived.

The three of them stepped out and made their way toward Alpha Sebastian’s private elevator.

Beta Sawyer guided Celina through the onboarding process, handing her security clearance cards and showing her around the company’s sleek, modern offices.

He introduced her to various departments and executive floors she would be interacting with regularly.

News of Celina’s new position spread through Silver Peak’s offices faster than free donuts disappear in the break room.

“Wait-she’s the Celina from the Blood Moon Pack?” whispered Kelly from Finance, peeking over her cubicle like a curious meerkat.

“Yep,” Mark from Marketing replied, barely pretending to work. “Headhunted straight from the top floor of Blood Moon’s tower. I heard Alpha Sebastian offered her double the salary.”

“Triple,” Jane from HR corrected, swirling her tea as if it held some secret. “And a private parking spot.”

“Pfft. Please,” Evan from IT scoffed. “She probably put him under some kind of enchantress spell. Have you seen her? She’s like the lovechild of Vogue magazine and a perfume ad.”

Right on cue, Celina walked past the glass-walled hallway, her navy pencil skirt and heels clicking sharply like punctuation marks.

Conversations paused mid-sentence; mouths dropped open slightly.

“Holy moon goddess,” someone whispered. “She makes Excel spreadsheets look sexy.”

Mark leaned closer. “Still think Alpha Sebastian’s into men?”

“Well…” Evan scratched his head. “We all saw Cassian from the Locke family show up with flowers.”

“Oh my god, I LIVED for that,” Jane gasped. “He had a bouquet. A whole bouquet! Peonies and everything!”

“Wait, isn’t the Locke family that weird neutral clan out in Colorado Springs?” Kelly blinked. “The human one that deals with supernatural politics?”

“Yup,” Mark nodded. “They’re not even part of the Five Major Packs. They’re like guardians or overseers-managing human-wolf relations or whatever.”

“So Cassian’s not even a wolf?” Evan asked, stunned.

“Nope. Just devastatingly attractive and disgustingly well-dressed,” Jane said dreamily.

“And apparently tight with our Alpha,” Kelly added, wiggling her eyebrows.

“And he touched Alpha Sebastian’s shoulder,” Kelly whispered again, eyes wide. “Lingering touch. That’s not a handshake touch. That’s a ‘we’ve shared a bed’ touch.”

“Okay, but then why is he defending Celina like that?” Evan asked. “He literally froze Shadow Pack’s loans for her.”
