Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 75 – Abandoned Luna Now Untouchable (Cecilia & Sebastian) Novel Free Online by Lila

“Because he’s chivalrous,” Jane said primly. “Or maybe… he’s bi.”

“Plot twist: secret throuple,” Mark quipped, sipping his coffee like it was tea.

Jane clapped her hands. “YES! Alpha Sebastian, Cassian, and Celina-power polycule energy! I support it.”

Meanwhile, two junior analysts whispered in the copy room.

“Did you hear? Her ex-mate dumped her for some baby-faced kid.”

“Shit. If she were mine, I’d bolt the doors and never leave the house.”

“You’d be lucky if she even looked at you,” someone muttered.

Across the hall, two female employees exchanged knowing glances.

“Men,” one said.

“Knots for brains,” the other replied.

Everyone fell silent as Alpha Sebastian strode past, his expression unreadable, his suit impeccable, his presence cold and commanding.

As soon as he disappeared into his office, the office buzz resumed-twice as loud.

Beta Sawyer opened the door and smiled warmly. “This will be your office,” he said.

The room was spacious and quiet, bathed in sunlight streaming through large windows that overlooked the city skyline. A sleek wooden desk stood near the center, surrounded by a few tasteful paintings adorning the walls. Everything was modern, neat, and professional.

Celina stepped in slowly, the soft click of her high heels echoing on the polished floor. She looked around, surprised by how impressive and well-appointed the space was.

Beta Sawyer spoke again. “The secretarial department used to be on this floor, but Alpha Sebastian wanted peace and quiet, so he moved them out. You’ve already met the team. From now on, you’ll be in charge of them.”

Celina nodded thoughtfully. “Understood.”

He pointed across the hallway. “My office is just on the other side of Alpha Sebastian’s. If you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask.”

He turned to leave but paused at the door. “One more thing,” he added. “There are only three people on this floor-me, you, and Alpha Sebastian.”

Celina raised an eyebrow. “Just three?”

Beta Sawyer nodded. “Yes. The Alpha doesn’t like too many people around. No one is allowed in his office without permission. So we handle the small stuff ourselves. The job can be… a bit stressful.”

Celina gave a small, tight smile. “Please tell me I don’t have to vacuum his office too.”

Celina

Beta Sawyer’s face shifted into an awkward expression as he continued outlining my responsibilities.

“Of course, you won’t have to handle any cleaning. Mostly, it’s about making coffee, steaming his suits, and occasionally waking him up,” he said casually.

“Hold on,” I interrupted, raising a hand to stop him, my usual professional smile fading away. “Wake him up? Am I really expected to get involved in his personal routine?”

Beta Sawyer shrugged, his tone almost matter-of-fact. “Alpha Sebastian has this habit of taking afternoon naps.”

I stayed quiet for a moment, carefully considering how to respond.

“Beta Sawyer, I think we need to clarify our roles,” I began, choosing my words deliberately. “You’re Alpha Sebastian’s assistant, and I’m his secretary. It makes sense that I handle the company’s affairs while you take care of his personal matters. You’re his trusted Beta, after all. I can certainly make coffee at the office, but waking him up feels… too personal. That should be your responsibility.”

I couldn’t help but add with a slight smirk, “Especially since you’re already used to it.”

Beta Sawyer’s face betrayed a flicker of discomfort.

“Oh, we don’t have to get so specific about who does what,” he replied, forcing a bright tone. “We all work for Alpha Sebastian. Whoever’s free just does whatever needs doing. I should get going now.”

Before I could say another word, he slipped out through the door.

I closed it behind him with a sigh, feeling exasperated. Classic avoidance of responsibility.

[No way. I’m fine handling most tasks, but waking him up? That’s definitely his Beta’s job.]

I made a mental note to bring this up again later as I settled at my desk, organizing my things and setting up my computer password.

About five minutes later, Beta Sawyer sent over the schedule for the day.

I skimmed through it quickly.

Then another notification popped up.

Expecting meeting documents for the 10:30 assembly, I opened the file-but instead, it was something called “Alpha Sebastian’s Preference Guidelines.”

I raised an eyebrow as I clicked it open.

The document went into painstaking detail about Alpha Sebastian’s coffee and tea preferences: which beans to use for his morning brew, the exact water temperature, the specific grant tea leaves he preferred after his afternoon nap, and even that he needed ice water when working late into the night.

I scrolled down, noticing there were even more preferences listed beyond that.

[So this is how he delegates these little tasks to me.]

At the very top, a note caught my eye: the first coffee of the day must be delivered before 9:30 AM.

I glanced at the clock-9:48 AM.

I hurried back up to review his morning coffee instructions.

Moon goddess, he wants pour-over coffee?

In my heels, I dashed to the break room, frantically searching for the right beans, a grinder, and the proper kettle.

Working as fast as I could, I prepared the coffee and carried it carefully to Alpha Sebastian’s office.

Taking a deep breath to steady myself, I knocked lightly.

“Enter,” his calm, steady voice called from inside.

I opened the door to find him already immersed in work, completely focused on the papers spread before him.

I approached quietly and set the coffee down gently to his right.

He glanced up briefly, then returned to his documents.

Taking that as my cue, I turned to leave.

“Celina.”

His voice stopped me in my tracks.

I turned back around.

“Yes, Alpha Sebastian? Did you need something else?”

He simply pointed to his cheek.

I kept my professional smile, but inside I was puzzled.

[What does that mean? Is there something on his face?]

When I didn’t respond, he beckoned me closer with a subtle wave of his hand.

I stepped forward cautiously, and suddenly he rose from his chair.

Tall and commanding, the moment he moved, it felt like he filled the entire room.

His scent-warm and woody, like sandalwood-wafted around me.

Without warning, his fingers brushed my cheek, the pad of his thumb softly grazing my skin.

A jolt of electricity raced through me, goosebumps rising from my face down to my neck.

“What are you-” I gasped, stepping back.

“Your face was dirty,” he explained, his voice deep but gentle.

He showed me his thumb, which had a tiny brown coffee ground stuck to it.

I was momentarily speechless.

Pressing my lips into a straight line, I said, “Thank you. But next time, you could just tell me.”

Alpha Sebastian sat back down. “I did try to alert you. You just weren’t quick to catch on.”

I bit back several sharp replies that would have surely gotten me fired on my very first day.
