Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 75 – Not Just The Beta (Oriana & Slade) Novel Free Online by Jennifer Francis

“Devout aren’t you?” Ana murmured.

“Hmm, I don’t know about that, maybe. Only Selena would know that.”

“You’re still working on it aren’t you?”

“Yep, I’ll never stop. It doesn’t stop one scenting a Mate, it just stops one from the feeling of the moon setting is all.”

“Maybe it’s not a tech thing, maybe Maddie, you need a witch or someone with some sort of magical ability.” She mused allowed after thinking about it.

Maddie sat up now and looked right at her. “Now there’s an idea girl. Man, why didn’t I think of that, though how do I get me one that wants to help?”

“Ah, I believe.” Ana chuckled and turned Maddie’s face up to the moon “You might want to pray to the Goddess for that kind of help.”

They were both laughing a minute later, trying to defy their Goddess, on the sensation of the moon setting and having Maddie actually pray to Selena herself, for the help with achieving her task.

They just lay out there laughing and talking for most of the night. She walked with Tawny after she shifted and went for a stroll in the woods, before coming back to the house. They were still smiling and talking, had no cares here in the small town away from the wolfen world. Though she’d now heard from Maddie, there were six packs spread out in the State of Maine.

They had found themselves a new place and a new way of life that suited them both. It would be nice if all she-wolves that went rogue could find the peace and happiness they had, a new quiet and safe life for them all.

She’d been in the caf? when Maddie had murmured excitedly down the mind-link ‘Here he comes, Alpha Austin. Don’t drool now, she’d chuckled, ‘and don’t worry, he’s never not once picked me for anything other than being human.

The man walked in the door and wow, Maddie wasn’t wrong at all, he was tall and muscled up, had them neatly pulled back dreadlocks, wore that Alpha council pin on the lapel of his royal blue suit as well.

Maddie practically jostled her out of the way and smiled up at him, “Well, hello again stranger.

She was all swoon worthy, Ana thought, as she half leaned on the counter.

Ana shook her head but saw the man, and yes, he was pure Alpha-blooded, chuckle softly as he watched Maddie’s reaction to his presence, likely he was also used to her.

“Still here I see young lady.” His deep voice sounded amused.

“Yes, it’s my caf?, I’m not giving it up in a hurry. Now let me see…if I recall correctly, it was Austin. I wrote on your cup, yes.”

He really chuckled now. “Yes it was.” He nodded “How do you remember that?” he asked.

Ana snorted from her place of being shoved out the way. “Got the hots for you is how.” She snorted behind her hand. But she also knew it was his pack, and name, that Maddie used to access the Wolfen intranet.

The man was a dreamboat, it seemed, and didn’t mind the ladies ogling him either, “Can you recall what I have? How good is that memory of yours?” He asked right back.

“Hmm, I’m not that good.” Maddie smiled and leaned back “What can I get for you today?”

“Bar the obvious.” Ana giggled and got swatted by Maddie herself.

He just smiled, “Two, tall double shot Maddie specials.” He answered after looking at the board.

“Cappuccinos or lattes?” Maddie asked.

“Lattes, thanks.” He smiled.

“Coming right up.” Maddie smiled at him and saw him walk away to go and sit to wait for it.

Ana watched another, his Beta come in and sit down as well. She noted their mind-link conversation, not something humans picked up on. It was only brief, and she wondered why they were here.

Though she did know that Maddie had accessed the intranet just yesterday, she wondered if it was a coincidence, or if it was because he could track that he and his pack name had been used to access the intranet. It was pretty quiet at the moment in here, she leaned on the wall and used her phone to google the distance from Greenville to the closest town where his pack was in New York State. She saw it load up a journey of just eight and a half hours’ drive. She’d seen him closing the car door, when Maddie had told her here he comes. All excitedly.

He and his Beta sat quietly both were on their phones, though she had a feeling it was just a human world thing they did, to hide the mind-link from being noticed. It kind of made one look as though they were staring aimlessly off into space. Were zoned out, she’d heard a few humans comment.
