Chapter 77 – Shadowed Bond with Her Alpha

The girls turn to me as if to ask for permission. I smile at them. “This is the pack Shadow takes people who need help. It will be your new pack.” I say and I see the weariness from them. They don’t say anything, just follow the older woman up some stairs. I turn and see the Alpha smiling at me.

“Let’s go have a drink and maybe get you cleaned up. You look like you had a bit of trouble getting here.” He says chuckling. I look down and remember I have blood all over me. I nod my head and we head to the Alpha’s house. He gives me some spare clothes and shows me where the shower is. I quickly take a shower and put on the clothes. When I come out I am greeted by the Alpha and Luna, both sipping from a glass at the kitchen table. I go and join them at the table and the Alpha hands me a glass of whiskey.

“So, SJ. How is igeral? I am assuming she didn’t bring the two girls from the challenge because something is going on.” He says with his voice laced with concern. I choke on the whiskey he handed me.

“What? How?” Is all I say.

“We have television here. We all watched the challenge and know who the shadow is.” He says clearing things up for me. I nod my head.

“She is currently in the hospital being treated for wounds. That is actually part of the reason I am here.” I say. My nervousness kicks in and I start fidgeting with the glass in my hand. The Alpha and Luna look at me questioningly.

“And that reason being?” Alpha asks. I take a deep breath.

“The Elder council is deliberating on what to do with the shadow. They feel that there needs to be consequences for the actions she has made. From what I have heard, they are conflicted between imprisonment, death, and nothing at all.” I say and both the Alpha and Luna’s faces turn grave.

“But she has helped so many people. They can’t do anything other than free her.” The luna speaks up and I nod my head.

“That is why I am here to talk with you both. The Royal Gamma Garrett has come up with a plan to assemble as many people as we can that the shadow has saved. They will assemble outside of the castle tomorrow to show their support for LeeAca. With this, Gamma Garret is hoping that it will sway the council in the way of no punishment. They are only looking at the people that she has killed, not the people she has helped.” I say and the Alpha looks to his Luna.

“I would love to help you son, but we are all still technically rogues. We would not be allowed near the royal border, let alone cross it. I will not put my people in danger.” He says, looking me in the eye.

“I understand that. Gamma Garret has assured me that if any rogue comes to stand in the name of LeeAca will be protected. He and I will be there to personally welcome everybody and to ensure no person with ill intent will enter the royal grounds.” I say and I feel his guilt.

“I will come.” Luna says defiantly, earning a growl from Alpha Jorian.

“Jannett!” He yells and she turns back to him.

“She saved my life, Jorian. I will be there to do what I can to help save hers.” She hisses at him. Alpha Jorian sighs and runs a hand down his face.

“We will be there. I will talk with my pack and see if anybody else will join us. I will not force my people to come if they do not wish to.” He says and I nod my head.

“Thank you both. I do ask that you arrive tomorrow around noon, so that Gamma Garret and I are there to ensure your safety.” I say and stand up. I hold out my hand and Alpha Jorian takes it. I head to check on the girls to make sure they are good before I leave, then make my way back home to the castle. I pray to the moon goddess tomorrow works.

Gamma Garrett POV

I spent all day yesterday calling different packs that were not able to come to the challenge. Asking them to at least ask their people if they will come and show support for LeeAca. Some of them refused. I also went around talking to the Alpha’s that were here for the challenge. Again, some of them refused. After talking with all of the packs, I doubt that we will have as many people as I was wanting to show up. But some are better than none. I hear a knock on my living room door and look at the clock. It is 8:30 in the morning. Confused, I get up to open the door and see Lucas standing there. I let him in before anybody sees and shut the door behind him.

“Anything?” I ask him.

“I have found a few rogues that will be coming. Most of them are worried about their safety. The ones that will come I told to be here at 12, so that I can greet them as they come in. I told them that you will also be there to ensure they are not harmed when they walk in.” He says, looking warrily at me.

“They will not be harmed. I will go out now and join the gatekeepers till they arrive. I will mindlink you when they are here.” I say and then head over towards the door.

“I will join you as soon as I am done with breakfast.” Lucas says and I nod my head. We go our separate ways and I head towards the front gate. It takes about 30 minutes to get there and when I do, the warriors look at me in confusion.

“Gamma.” They all say and bow their heads. I nod my head and take a seat on one of the wooden benches outside of the gates. Lucas joins me after an hour. Just in time to see what looks to be 4 school buses driving down the road, with three vehicles in front and behind the buses. We stand up and wait for them. They stop about 100 feet out, I can sense the change in my warriors. They don’t know about what is going on. Lucas and I walk up to the first vehicle while an older gentleman gets out. He was the Alpha of the Horizon pack.

“Gamma Garret.” He says and nods his head a little to show respect, but not all the way because he is still an Alpha and only bows for the King.

“Alpha Carlos. Are all of these buses with you?” I ask him.

“Yes Gamma they are. My son called me last night and told me of the plan for the Queen. I asked the pack members that stayed behind what they wished to do. We all decided to come and show our support. We actually have a couple people in the pack that she has saved and we all would like to show our gratitude.” He says smiling. I smile back and beckon for the guards to come over. They walk up warrily, still not fully knowing what was going on.

“I need you to get the escort to come and show the Horizon pack where to go. They will park in parking lot C and gather around the front of the castle.” I say to them and they nod their heads. I see them run around the corner to get the escorts and I turn back to the former Alpha.

“The escort will be here in a few moments, they will show you where to park. If you don’t mind gathering in front of the castle, we are hoping that all people wishing to support the Queen will be here by 1.” I say and he nods his head. He turns and walks back to the vehicle and gets in. Soon enough our palace escort car pulls around and they head in. The two warriors come back and stand in their positions.

“There will be packs gathering here today to support our future Queen during the Elders deliberation. We are hoping to have a few more people. The last of them should be here by 12:30.” I say and they smile.

“Yes sir.” They say in unison. Lucas and I sit back down and as soon as we do we hear a trail of vehicles coming down the road. We both stand up and wait. We see around 15 vehicles ranging from small coupes to large 12 passenger vans start to trail down the road. Once they get to us they stop 100 feet away and a younger bulky man steps out.

“Gamma Garrett. I was told you would greet us. I am Delta Andrew of the Blue Lightning pack. We are here in support of the future Queen. Not all of the pack could make it due to not having enough vehicles, but we have brought as many members as we could.” Delta Andrew says. I turn and nod my head slightly to the two guards to make sure they would go and get the escort. Hopefully there is more than one at the moment.
