Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 78 – Not Just The Beta (Oriana & Slade) Novel Free Online by Jennifer Francis

They had been sitting there on the beach discussing where to have dinner that night, and found a nice restaurant and were getting up to go back to their hotel to change for dinner when Ana found herself kind of just stuck and unable to get up.

Maddie chuckled as she had to help pull Ana up from the sand. They were both laughing about it, found it funny that she was so heavily pregnant that getting up was a bit of an issue, as did a few others around them. Maddie managed to get her up on the third try, and they stumbled about a bit, and she clung onto Maddie herself.

Several people here at the beach were now really chuckling, and one woman called out “I remember those days.” With full amusement in her voice, which only made her and Maddie laugh again.

They waded out into knee-deep water one last time before heading back to their hotel. The water was lovely and cool, and Ana though happy and amused, having a good time, suddenly gasped in pain, and clutched at not only her stomach but Maddie’s arm as well. “Ana?” Maddie grabbed onto her as Ana stumbled about and fell down on to her knees as real pain rolled through her body.

“I think she’s coming.” Ana managed to get out, the pain was intense, and she struggled with it.

“Back to the car the minute it passes.” Maddie stated, kneeling there in the water herself now, un-caring about their clothes getting wet.

Ana could only nod, and the minute that contraction was over, she sagged with relief, Maddie was hauling her up onto her feet, used Tawny’s strength to do so and Ana knew it. One clean pull, and she was up and standing, unlike back on the shore, where it had taken several because she’d not used her wolfen strength.

Before they were even out of the water she was gasping again and clutching at her stomach, barely a minute had passed. “Shit.” Maddie muttered aloud, but then, down the mind-link, stated ‘Alpha pups can come hard and fast, I think that’s what you’re going to get.’

They were not going to make it off this beach, and there were many people on this beach right now. ‘If no one was here Ana, I’d just pick you up and race you back to the car. I can’t here in the human world.’

She just nodded as she felt her water break and looked at Maddie. “She’s coming.” She gasped through another contraction, it was barely 30 seconds away now.

Ana could hear someone calling for a doctor, a nurse, a paramedic, anything, but Maddie just hauled up past the water line and put her down, removed Ana’s underwear and looked at her Here is where she’ll be born.” She smiled at Ana, “You push, I’ll catch.” And five minutes later her daughter was born right there on the beach, delivered by Maddie.

She placed the small little girl in Ana’s arms, and she sagged with relief but realised that giving birth on a beach in a very public place, there were many people taking photos or filming it. Didn’t need that.

‘Maddie, there are too many people.’ She shot down the mind-link, ‘photos being taken.’

She watched Maddie look around her and sigh ‘Home it is.’ she agreed, she was helped up, and her little girl was given a shaken-out towel to be wrapped in by a woman and told not to worry about returning it. Congratulated her on her daughter.

They were met by paramedics as they headed up the track to the car park. One of them chuckled at the sight of her, “We didn’t make it, I see.”

Maddie shook her head at him. “Nope, my niece was in a real rush.”

They encouraged Ana to hop on the gurney and go to the hospital for a health check-up for both her and her baby. Ana looked at Maddie worriedly, “It’ll be alright,” she stated simply, then mind-linked to her ‘Even if the news of a baby born on the beach makes it to your old pack, they are a full day away. We’ll be gone before then.’

Ana nodded, she did know it was a two-hour drive to Phoenix airport, a three-hour flight to this side of the country, and then they would have to hire a car and make their way here to Sand Beach, Maine. She had time, but still didn’t like it. She was googling in the paramedic van, while Maddie followed in her truck, trying to figure out the logistics of how long if they found out and there was a clear shot of her on that beach giving birth, would it take for her father to hunt her down.

Nine and a half hours, by the time she added everything up, but that was also without waiting times at the airport. They could be here in less than a day, she realised, so staying in the nearest hospital was not an option as far as she was concerned. She could also feel China already healing her, so she would be good to go in just a few hours.

She was in that hospital only long enough for her and her daughter to be given a clean bill of health. A few hours was all. Maddie had sighed at the math Ana had done, and she’d yet to put a name to her daughter, but with the paperwork in front of her she’d smiled at Maddie.” How about Ocean, seeing as she liked it so much she just had to see it the day she was born.

Maddie had chuckled herself and nodded “I like it.”

Ocean Forester it was.

She’d taken Maddie’s last name, and was known to all in Green Ville as Ana Forester. They’d left the hospital that very night, just three hours after her daughter was born, and headed home.

Her little girl had platinum blonde hair like her father, but Ana’s eyes, she’d looked at Maddie and asked her after getting home, “Do you think her hair will change and become darker like mine?”

“Unlikely, most wolves are born with the hair colour they’ll have when grown up. Why?…is her father blonde.” She’d asked.

“Yes, platinum blonde.” Ana had nodded.

“Don’t worry too much about it, she’ll be all you, and with us raising her, she’ll be strong and capable, like you and I. Nothing like him.”

“I hope so.” Ana had nodded “I can’t believe she’s here and only three months too.”

“She’s an Alpha pup, and with your pure-blooded Beta line, she’s not really that much different from a pure-blooded Alpha, and will be good and strong. Bloodline wise, only one stronger than her, that being a pure-blooded Alpha.” Maddie smiled at her “We’ll teach her how to fight.
