Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 86 – Falling for the Last Lycan Novel

Thankfully, Rose left them alone, but Zuri was still laughing. It became even funnier when her mother looked at her with disappointment. This was not something new. She should try something new with her.

“Fuck off, all of you!” Zuri shouted to the empty air, as if she was seeing someone there. “You are dead, stay dead!”

“Zuri,” Rhett called her name with gentleness in his voice. He was worried of her. She was still his sister, even though he was more than willing to sacrifice her for the greater good. “Control yourself. You can control yourself.”

Zuri grinned when she saw Rhett and raised her hand very quick with her claws emerged, she wanted to cut him.

However, Rhett had expected this attack and he dodged it in time. He put the distance between them, just in case she was going to attack him again.

“Come here, my favorite brother. Don’t you want to hug your little sister? Don’t you miss me? Don’t you feel sorry for what you have put me through?” Zuri chuckled.

“Zuri…” Rhett said helplessly. “I am sorry for what I have put you through… but, you need to understand, this is necessary. Don’t you want to see the alpha got what he wanted?” Rhett coaxed her.

“Don’t sweet talking me about accepting this shitty life. I will not care what he wanted if it’s not for you to put me in the position, where I have a strong attachment toward him.” Zuri suddenly stopped laughing and the change was very quick, it looked very terrifying.

“Zuri, I know my fault, but even if I can turn back time, I will do the same thing.” Rhett looked genuine with what he said. “But, I still love you. You are my little sister. I can promise you that I will do everything to ensure your survival after the completion of the beauty blood.”

“Run.”

“What?” Rhett frowned.

“Run, Rhett. The voices in my head telling me to kill you right there and then and I know I can.” The only reason why Zuri had not yet killed him was because it would implicate Khaos and probably because she still had a soft spot for him.

He had been the only person she had during her difficult time growing up in this pack, the sane part of her still wanted to believe that he really loved her despite everything.

“Life is too short, Zuri. I wish you find it in you to forgive me.”

Zuri looked at him with disgust. “Yeah, life it’s short, so does your dick.”

There was a snort from behind them and as it turned out, it was Gayle. He came right in time to hear Zuri’s sarcasm.

Both of them didn’t realize the gamma was there, because the tension was pretty high between them two.

“I came here to tell you that the alpha is looking for you,” Gayle said. He raised both of his hands, as he approached them. Zuri glared at him, but she immediately walked away to find Khaos. “You should stay away from her,” the gamma said.

“You have no right to tell me what to do. She is my sister. I can do whatever with her.”

Gayle shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t think so, the alpha can do whatever with her,” he corrected him and then walked away.

The reason for Khaos to call Zuri, because he had something to talk about regarding the problem with the golden stamp. They just received the first report from Caiden.

Zuri’s plan worked well and now, they were going to take the second steps to ensure the Golden Stamp would be in their hands by the end of this winter.

And for the king, he called Rose to his bedroom to discuss about what they were going to do to Khaos’s ships, but Rose looked distracted and this didn’t go unnoticed by the king. He didn’t need to prod her to get the answer.

“I am sure, she was talking to herself. She talked as if there was someone there,” Rose told Dacre about Zuri’s strange behavior. “I am not sure what is that and why she threw up.” She bit her nails, thinking about all the possibility. “King Dacre, do you think she is pregnant?”

Dacre’s eyes narrowed into a slit when he heard that. He was the cause of Zuri’s miscarriage before because he didn’t want his brother to have their firstborn before him and this included Khaos.

“Are you sure, she is pregnant?”

Rose shook her head. “Vomiting is not the only indication of a pregnancy. I am more worried with her behavior for talking alone.”

However, Dacre was so hung up with the fact there was a possibility that Zuri was pregnant with Khaos’s child.

Currently, Nycta was pregnant, but it was still in the early stage. Everything could happen.

Before this, Dacre would lose his baby during the early pregnancy, but even if Rimera could bring the baby full term, she would lose their baby when she gave birth to them.

There was nothing more painful to give birth to a dead baby. Rimera had one stillbirth and that kept haunting Dacre.

Until he was sure that his baby would be alive and Nycta would have smooth delivery, his position would still be unstable.

And now, he heard there was an indication that Zuri might be pregnant… He had gotten rid of Xaden’s child, he was going to do the same thing to Khaos’s.

“King Dacre,” Rose called his name because he was too engrossed to his own thought, to the point he didn’t even hear what she was saying.

“Yes? What did you say?” Dacre snapped back to reality. He stared at Rose. He knew this princess’s aim for him or Khaos to be her chosen mate. She was not satisfied with the fact she was going to have Logan as her mate.

Before, Dacre had used Faye and now…

“I was talking about the attack to alpha Khaos’s ships.” Rose sat down next to the king, her movement was very graceful. Her scent permeated in the air. She was a temptation. “If you are going to use this opportunity to take the alpha down, we need to have someone to take the blame if the plan went south.”

Dacre had agreed to Rose’s plan to take all the food supply and burned the ships and while they were at it, they were going to kill as many Khaos’s warriors as possible.

The king also would disguise the attacker as someone from Great Lunar kingdom, to enhance the people’s hatred toward their enemy. From then on, he was going to make the best out of this chaotic situation.

Everything would go in his favor if it ran smoothly.

“I have someone in my mind that can be the sacrifice, if the plan met with the problem.” Dacre knew exactly, who could that person be. He wouldn’t be in disadvantage if that person became the sacrificial lamb, in fact, he would be able to plot something about it too.

“Great, who is that person, king Dacre?” Rose asked curiously, because the look on Dacre’s face was rather interesting.

One thing that Dacre learned from Khaos was; if you made a plan, you had to think about all the possible case scenarios and made plan about each of the possibility too.

He really needed to thank Khaos for teaching him this valuable lesson and now, he was going to use it against him.

However, little did he know that there was no way he could surpass the instigator.

“That’s wonderful! I have never met someone as smart as you!” Rose praised Dacre. A way to man’s heart was to say whatever they wanted to hear to boast their ego.

Rose stroke his arm and leaned over to kiss him, but Dacre turned his head to avoid it.

“I keep you by my side, because you have a good head on your shoulders, but if you are trying to start an affair with me, I can cut your good head off for a treason for the queen.”

Rose went pale, blood immediately drained from her face when she heard the harsh word. “I… I didn’t… I didn’t mean that… that’s only a heat of a moment.” Rose immediately fell on her knees and begged for forgiveness. “It will never happen again! That’s a poor moment of my judgment!”

Dacre stood up in front of her. “This will be the last time. I don’t care if you made a move on someone else, but I am not going away from my pregnant mate to start an affair with her sister.”

What Dacre’s mean was very clear. Rose didn’t have a chance with him, but if she wanted, she could shoot her shot to Khaos.
