“Didn’t work. I only have one attempt left.” Maleena says frustratedly.
“December 12, 2017 18:53.” I say and lay the book down in front of her. She types cautiously and hits enter. The screen lights up. It worked.
“Thank goddess.” I hear Maleena whisper.
After a few seconds and click later.
“No. No No No.” Maleena keeps repeating while shaking her head. “She can’t be so stupid.” She says while still shaking her head. Dread fills me as well as impatience.
“WHAT IS IT?!” I yell and she snaps out of her trance.
“She went after the doctor.” She says. Like I am supposed to know what the hell she is talking about.
“SPEAK CLEAR MALEENA! WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?” I yell again and Lucas comes in and growls. I glare at him and he bares his neck. This room is surprisingly big. It fills all of us with room to spare.
“The doctor who works for the hunters, more specifically, her doctor. She was in a rush and forgot to close her tabs. How can she be so stupid? Why now? Why?” Maleena rushes out as tears start to well up in her eyes. My anger starts to drain as realization hits me. She was taken by hunters before. Despair starts to work its way into my system. I am a horrible mate.
“WE NEED TO GO NOW! WHERE DOES It SAY SHE WENT?” I order and she frantically writes something down and hands it to me. Coordinates. I start to walk out of the apartment after I mindlink 20 of our best warriors to meet me outside ASAP. Everybody from the apartment begins to follow me and I turn around.
“NO. Marcus, and Lucas you may come but the rest stay here.” I say and everybody looks down. Well everybody except Maleena I see her face getting red.
“I AM ONE OF THE BEST TRACKERS YOU HAVE! I AM COMING WITH YOU WEATHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!” She yells.
“Maleena!” Her brother yells at her. I just huff and turn around.
“Let’s go then we are leaving as soon as everybody is briefed.” I say and I hear an exhale.
LeeAca’s POV
I wake with a start. F*CK. They poured a wolfbane and silver mixture down my throat and I passed out. I am still hanging by the ceiling and I see that they haven’t at least touched my clothes.
“Fen, are you still with me?” I ask and hear a scoff.
“You think a little wolfbane and silver will keep me away? It takes more than that to get rid of me.” She spits. I sign in relief, she may be pissed but that is where we need to be to get the plan done.
I hung there for about 3 hours listening and forming a plan. I have yet to see the space, but I remember the way out. There was a camera room when you first walked in that had a guard watching all of the camera’s. That is all I could get. After a few more minutes I hear guards walking toward my cell.
“Spray the b*tch down. You know the doctor don’t like them to be too dirty.” The man says right outside my door.
“LeeAca we need to hurry.” Fen says as she paces in my mind.
“What is it Fen?” I ask. She never normally rushes me.
“I can feel Alarick. He is within 20 miles.” She says slightly panicked.
“How could he have found us?” I asked, slightly panicking myself. Before either one of us could continue the door opens to reveal two men. One holding what looks like a hose nosile and the other a bucket. I feel the cold water being sprayed in my face. I find it hard to breathe so I hold my breath. Once the guy is done the other steps closer, but before he could throw the bucket of whatever on me, Fen and I break our chains and break his neck. The guy that was holding the hose just stood and stared in disbelief. Before he could do anything I grabbed the hose from him and wrapped it around his neck, successfully suffocating him. Alarms start to go off and I see people running towards me.
“This is gonna be fun.” Fen growls in my head. We start racing toward them and make a long sword appear in our hands. They made a mistake racing for me in a crowd. I successfully slice all of the men in front and begin work with the rest. After about 5 minutes I look around to see all of the people dead or barely breathing. I quickly go to the front room and find an all release button. I hit it and I ran out.
“EVERYBODY FOLLOW MY VOICE! THE DOOR IS UP HERE! EVERYBODY RUN! I WILL BRING THE CHILDREN OUT TO YOU!” I yell and I see many people rushing out, mostly women, and some frantically looking around. Once I am sure that everybody knows the general direction to the door I start busting into the locked rooms. Killing guards and nurses, having women take children out. The last room I go to and kick in I see guards and doctors. There are two children laying on operating tables, one is dead. I quickly kill the guards and doctors when a woman runs down from the observation room.
“MY BABY NOOOOOO!!!!” She is screaming. I froze as I remember 4 years ago. My children. I look at the children on the table and see mine. I shake my head and start backing up, still staring at my childs unmoving faces. I black out.
Alarick’s POV
After running for 2 hours we start to slow. We see a small cabin, on the outside it seems to be a normal cabin, but after we creep closer the smell of blood mixed with gardenias and fresh rain,. LeeAca’s scent. Onin starts to go mad and push me to enter the house, but before he could I took control from him and shifted back to my human form. I quickly ran into the house, not caring about anything else..
As soon as I pushed open the door blood trailed to my feet. I slowly walk in, trying to hold in my panic. I look around to see blood everywhere, but it isn’t LeeAca’s blood. I let out a long exhale and looked around. It looks like there is a person laying on the floor. They are completely butchered. I have no idea if it was a man or a woman, but looking around at the d?cor I would assume that it was a man. Who could have done this? Why be so violent with it?
All of a sudden there is a scream. I whip my head around to see that one of my men is standing next to the TV.
“Alarick you need to see this.” I hear Marcus say. I walk toward the TV that is still screaming when I see it. LeeAca is strapped to a table surrounded by what looks like 1 doctor and 3 nurses. They inject her with something and her screams chill my bones. I quickly turn the TV off and run outside. I need to find her. Where is she?
