I forced myself to sit up, even though every muscle in me was shaking. My voice cracked as I asked, “Where am I? Why did you bring me here? Who are you guys?”
They looked at each other and burst into louder laughter, and the third one, bald and big with a stomach that pressed against his tight shirt, said, “So you don’t know who we are, huh?”
He turned to the others, mocking me. “How many years has it been since we started looking for her?”
“Over two decades,” Scarface said with a smirk.
“Should’ve died with her damn mother… took us long enough,” the one with locks hissed.
“What are you talking about?” My voice was breaking now. “What are you saying? I didn’t do anything to any of you. Please. I’m innocent!”
A slap came so fast and so hard from the dreadlocked man that I didn’t even see it coming.
My head snapped to the side so fast I saw stars. I tasted blood. My face stung like hell.
“Innocent, my foot!” Scarface snarled.
They circled me like I was prey and they were waiting for the perfect moment to pounce. I backed away, but there was nowhere to run.
“Do you even know who your mother was?” one of them asked, getting in my face.
“She was a fucking terror,” the other one spat. “A female Alpha! Stronger than most male Alphas. She was feared. She tore down packs, destroyed entire legacies, reduced Alphas to nothing, made them crawl, stripped them of their wolves. She didn’t even blink while doing it.”
I was sobbing now, my body shaking like I was freezing to death.
“And then,” the bald one said, his voice dripping with venom, “she made the stupidest mistake a leader like her could ever make.”
“She fell in love with a human,” dreadlock spat. “Your damn father. And that’s when her downfall started.”
I was crying harder now, shivering so hard my teeth chattered.
“Her pack turned against her,” the bald one said, crouching beside me like he was talking to a child. “They were loyal until she brought shame to them. A strong Alpha mating with a powerless human? That was betrayal. Her pack divided, broke into factions, and we… we took that chance. We took it and destroyed everything she built.”
“We killed her. We killed them all,” Scarface added proudly.
My heart was thudding too loud in my chest. I wanted to throw up. I wanted to pass out. Anything but this.
“We thought we ended her bloodline that night,” said the one with the dreadlocks. “But turns out, she had a baby … born just before we came. That baby was you.”
I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t move.
“Your daddy did everything to keep you hidden,” Baldy said. “Even got a witch to suppress your scent, hide your existence. But we found you, little Alpha girl. After all these years, we finally found you.”
“And now, we finish what we started,” Scarface growled. “Tonight, your mother’s legacy dies with you.”
“We’ll spare your dad,” one of them muttered. “He doesn’t have powers. He’s no threat.”
But then… they paused.
One of them grinned wider and said, “Oh she has a son…
Baldy facepalmed himself, “How did we forget that? Your son carries both bloodlines. Yours. And Alpha Killian’s.”
I gasped so loud I thought my lungs would explode. “No. Please. No! Please don’t touch him. He’s just a child. He’s just a baby!”
“Exactly why he has to die!” they all chorused.
“He’ll be stronger than both of you combined,” Scarface said. “He’s a threat we cannot allow to live.”
I screamed. I begged. I cried, grabbing at their legs.
“Please! Please! I’ll do anything. Just leave him alone! I’ll die, just don’t touch my son!”
They pushed me off like I was dirt.
“Too late for that, Alpha girl,” one of them sneered. “But before we end this, we have a little surprise. A gift, if you will.”
They whistled, and my heart nearly stopped beating.
The door creaked. And then footsteps. And when I looked up, my eyes widened in horror.
Someone stepped in.
Someone I never expected.
I gasped.LIANA’S POV
It was Cynthia.
She stepped into the dim, rotting room with a smirk so wide it made my stomach twist. It felt as if every ounce of air was sucked from my lungs.
The men, those monsters who had been circling me like hungry wolves, turned to her and said, “She’s the one who made it very easy for us to find you.”
One of them, the one with the scar slicing through his left cheek, pointed at me and added, “She hated you just as much as we wanted you gone.”
Cynthia laughed. A cruel, high-pitched sound that was making my already spinning head feel worse.
“What do you want us to do with her before she dies?” they asked, like it was just some fun game to them.
Cynthia’s eyes darkened with so much hate, “I want to torture her first,” she said casually, like she was asking for a glass of water. “I want to see her bleed.”
The men laughed again, and one of them handed her a whip, long, black, and cracked from overuse. My heart dropped. My hands instantly went to cover my face, but I was tied. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t do anything but watch her collect the whip from him.
“Torture her all you want,” one of the men said, stepping back. “We wouldn’t interfere.”
I shook my head, trying to back away, but my body wouldn’t even obey me. My limbs were numb, my skin already raw from their hittings earlier. I couldn’t move fast enough. I couldn’t scream loud enough.
“Please….” I whispered. “Please don’t do this…”
But she ignored me and landed the first whip across my thigh. I screamed.
The second across my back.
“PLEASE…..!” I cried out again. I was sobbing now. I couldn’t even count how many lashes I had received. My body was trembling, burning, breaking, and she just kept going.
I was begging, crying, screaming, but it didn’t stop. She just kept going, even when I begged her to stop, even when my voice cracked and I started choking on my own sobs.
