Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 9 – Belladonna The Rejected Luna

Then, once back in the hotel, she sat down and logged into the intranet, realising she had to use the Lustrous Moon Pack and Parker’s name. To do that, it seems she just couldn’t bloody escape him, even though she was no longer attached to the man.

She checked the wolfen listings for pack doctors.

Four of them were still there, two were for surgeons; not what she was.

Hadn’t completed her residency for that yet, it was now on hold until she could find another pack to affiliate with and have their pack doctor take her on and teach her.

One of those were from that list Kane had left her to tell her who their enemy packs were, so that was out.

And the last one was for a doctor to help treat the wounded in the army barracks of the Wolfen Kingdom.

A place she was not going to go, a place her grandmother had told her never to go.

She didnt think her grandmother would have led her astray, so she opted out of that.

Now she was just sitting perusing other options on that listing.

She wasn’t a psychiatrist or haematologist, and couldn’t apply for an anaesthesiologist, though that in the Wolfen world was worth its weight in gold.

Sedating a wolf and keeping them sedated was a skill.

Sedating one and keeping them alive during surgery was also hard.

One had to make sure the levels were right.

So, the wolf wouldn’t wake up and start to heal its human mid surgery.

Not always easy.

Sometimes you didnt know they were awake inside their human counterpart until you saw active knitting of wounds mid surgery.

She was an Obstetrician / Gynaecologist and a Paediatrician.

That was her area of specialty, but she could also set broken bones and was still finishing out her residency on that one too.

Still had two years to go and just needed a pack that would allow her to finish that.

Belladonna

It was interesting to her perusing all the different types of doctors required out there in her world to assist with packs and their injured.

She spent two solid days doing that, reading all the ins and outs of each listing.

Just because she didnt have a particular skill set didnt mean she wasn’t willing to learn if a pack had a mentor to train her up.

She sorted her own resume, so she could send applications to various packs when needed.

Attached her diplomas and registrations, active studies she was undergoing.

Left out that she was currently a rogue, and a former Luna.

Just stated she was looking for a new career opportunity within a new pack.

Looking to broaden her perspective and interactions in the wolfen world.

Left that former Luna part out on purpose but did state she was alpha blooded and un mated.

Knew that would attract interest, because if she mated to someone inside their pack it would make their pack stronger.

But didnt want them to know she had that Luna Calm ability available to her.

Which she still did, she’d used it on Becky during her labour; after she’d issued her rejection and Parker had accepted it.

She’d still retained the gift given to her by their Goddess Selena from being Marked by a reigning Alpha to a pack.

She’d done all she could for the moment; it was now just a waiting game for her, for a response to her resume being out there, or for a job that came up that suited her own needs.

She’d kept her name off that listing, which was allowed within their world to keep enemy packs from knowing who you were and trying to get their hands on one, just so that they could harm them and the pack they came from.

She was standing leaning on her hotel balcony this morning just watching the cars going past as the commute started for the day for all of those down there heading off to their day jobs.

Something she was rapidly starting to miss.

She didn’t know how people could sit around and do nothing for more than a few days at a time.

She felt a bit like she was going stir crazy in this room with nothing to do, sipped her cup of coffee and looked at the cars as they all cruised to a slow halt at the traffic lights down there and blinked as she realised, she was looking at Parkers pack car sitting down there on the street.

She watched it move off and realised that he was likely heading off to his human world head office building.

She sighed to herself, she didnt really want to accidentally run into him here in the city, which could happen all the time she supposed.

Walked away from the balcony and started searching for a new state to live in, wondered where she felt like living, could go anywhere in the country, though didnt have a passport so couldn’t leave the country, wondered if she should get one, then realised she didnt have a home address for it to be sent to.

Likely wouldn’t be able to get one at all until she was settled into a new pack.

Knew staying here in Oklahoma City likely would mean she would actually come across him, at times.

Even if she got a job in the human world.

This was his human playground, so to speak.

She also knew he was here in the city four to five days a week, depending on his sche’dule.

She stood looking out that window later that night just looking over the city scape.

The only thing she’d decided was she was going west not east, her home pack was east, and she didnt want to run into any of them either.

She knew no one out west, so that was where she was going to head.

Her eyes fell on the illumination of the Lustre Inc.sign as it blinked into life as the city fell into night.

She could actually see his head office from this hotel room, hadn’t really paid that much attention to the night here, just went for a swim in the hotel pool, showered, climbed into bed and watched a movie until she fell asleep normally.

She didnt really know what companies he ran, knew Lustre was a fashion magazine, but also knew that was his head office, so likely all his other companies ran from there as well.

Her job was inside the pack.

She didnt deal with any of the packs business, just the pack members and the hospital requests from the other packs in his conglomerate, was all.

Though she knew his human world portfolio stated she was his wife, she had found that out, when she was 20, and had been more than shocked by the nurse waving her phone at her stating she looked good next to Parker.

They made for a nice looking couple.

That had confused her more than a little until she’d seen their photos next to each other on his human companys portfolio.

The nurses mate had just been given a job there, and she’d been excitedly searching for his name in the companys list of employees or something, and there was her picture right alongside Parkers.

The line under the two photos had stated Parker Hartly and his wife Belladonna Harrington.

She’d stared at it for a long moment, shocked to see it, read that.

It was a picture of her in her scrubs, she’d been smiling at someone about something that wasn’t seen.

She’d not even known it had been taken.

Parkers words had been quoted as Belladonna is young, but bright and beautiful.

Training to be an Ob / Gyn.

It had also stated her age and his.
