Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 59 – Falling for the Last Lycan Novel

Khaos was right, their lives were not their own and ever since they were born, they had been directed to the direction that people around them wanted.

With Khaos was born as the last lycan, he was expected to carry the hatred and revenge from the previous generation and for Zuri, she needed to meet a certain standard to prove herself was worth it, since she was born as a woman.

Their lives indeed didn’t belong to them and they had very little say in it.

“Where are you going?” Zuri looked panic when Khaos got up from the bed and let her go. “Did I say something wrong? I am sorry.” She immediately sat down.

Khaos didn’t know why, but her words upset him more than he expected, yet he couldn’t leave when she looked like she was about to cry.

“I need to take care of something.” Khaos pressed a kiss on her forehead. “I will be back later.”

Zuri clutched his sleeve, she fought back her tears. “Can’t you stay with me? I don’t want to be left alone.”

“This is important matter.” Khaos patted her head. “Don’t do anything harmful and try to sleep. I will not happy to see you hurt yourself.”

Zuri clutched his sleeve tighter, but Khaos freed himself with ease and she could only see him walked away from her, disappeared behind the closed door.

She stared at it for so long until her body gave in and she laid down, ignoring the voices in her head and closed her eyes. She hoped, sleep would come easy for her and once it happened, she wished, she didn’t need to wake up again…

Meanwhile, Khaos went to meet with Lucas, he had been locked inside this small room for weeks by now and for someone, who used to roam around freely, being restricted like this drove him crazy.

“Get me out of here!” Lucas yelled at Khaos the moment he entered the room. Like usual, he would lean his body against the closed door, giving Lucas zero chance to run away, not like he could run far from the lycan’s clutch.

“Behave,” he said impassively.

“What do you want?!” He screamed at him, glaring at the lycan furiously.

Khaos said nothing, but he turned around, he was about to leave the room when Lucas frantically stopped him.

“Fine! Fine! I will behave. I will behave! What do you want?!”

“What do you know about Gaia?”

“Who is Gaia?” Lucas looked confused. “The only Gaia that I know is the former luna of this

pack, alpha Roland’s first mate.”

Luna Karina, Zuri’s mother, was alpha Roland’s second mate.

“Yes, that woman.”

“She died when she gave birth to Rhett and she came from this pack, Aryandel city.” Lucas tried to find in his memories about that woman, but there was nothing much. “That’s all. She was not someone important. I don’t have much information about her.”

Aryandel city was the city that was led by Elder Erik, that was the elder that Zuri had killed that night in the palace.

“I want you to get more information about it and the city.”

“Fine.” Lucas didn’t know why Khaos was interested, but working out there was way better

than being locked here. “But, I want to see my little brother first.”

“You will see him once you get me a satisfactory information.”

This time, Khaos didn’t close the door when he left.

Rhett kept true to his words when he said he was going to prove it to Khaos the power that he had nurtured all these years.

Elijah led all black magic users from the cult to wipe out the royal warriors, they managed to kill half of them within a day and the rest decided to retreat.

“Should we chase after them, alpha?” Rhett asked, a triumph smile curled on the corner of his lips when he informed Khaos about what happened. He looked so eager to get a praise from him. “We can kill them all and make our way to the palace.”

“No. It’s not the right time.” Khaos stared at the distance, the sun slowly went down and the sky started to turn dark.

The black magic user was a shocking part that Dacre didn’t expect, since there were not many black magic users in this realm. Therefore, a hundred of them could be said as a massive number.

Based on what Khaos learned, this cult consisted of people who come from magic users, shifters and also some informants and merchants. Rhett was not exaggerated with his claim that this cult could be Khaos’s strongest supporter in his revenge.

“We can use this momentum to make a surprise attack.” Rhett had not yet given up with the idea.

However, Caiden rolled his eyes when he heard that. This man didn’t know Khaos at all. They indeed had the same goal to revive the old dynasty, but the way they approached their goal was completely different. It could be a challenge for Khaos in the future to reign Rhett and the cult.

“It’s not the right time for that,” Khaos said. He patted Rhett’s shoulder and praised him to appease his disappointment. “You have done a great job, take some rest.”

Rhett was still upset, though he appreciated his concern. “Thank you, alpha. But, I want to remind you that you have to make a decision about what to do with Zuri. We can’t waste more time.”

Khaos’s grey eyes flickered with anger, but it vanished before anyone noticed it and his expression remained emotionless. “I will let you know my decision.”

And after saying that, Khaos walked away. He had not yet visited Zuri ever since he walked away from her after their short conversation. From the report, she looked calm and ate her meal, but he knew what happened after she ate her food.

Gayle was waiting in front of Zuri’s bedroom door, he was given permission to enter the room if he thought something happened inside.

The warrior did not know the detail of the situation, but he was smart enough to know there was something wrong with Zuri. After all, he witnessed it with his own eyes how Zuri killed all of the beasts on her own.

When she fought in her beast form, she was… terrifying.

“How is she?”

“I think she has been sleeping. I don’t hear anything from inside,” Gayle replied and Khaos entered the room only to see Zuri was standing naked in front of the mirror.

She stared at her own reflection, mumbling something under her breath. It was too soft for Gayle to hear from behind the close door.

Seeing this sight, Khaos immediately closed the door behind him. Zuri had her back faced Khaos with her hair cascaded down. Even her black hair looked very dull right now.

From the reflection on the mirror, Khaos could see how her bones protruded. Her breasts were saggy and her ribcages imprinted on her skin. Her eyes looked so big for her small face.

Khaos picked up her dress and draped it on her shoulders. He couldn’t stand to see her body for long. Not because it disgusted him, but because he couldn’t prevent it. They needed the beauty blood and Zuri’s condition would only get worse.

There were still twenty more curses that she had to endure before the completion of the Beauty Blood, before her misery was over.

“I look so ugly.” Zuri watched Khaos from the reflection on the mirror, as the alpha hugged her from behind, engulfed her body in his warm embrace.
