And with out another word, she turned and left and we were all left staring after her
“Well.. you heard the women” Evet linked her arm with Maddies “Come on, we have some shopping to do”
“But I have dresses” Maddie argued and looked over her shoulder at us for help as Evet pulled her away “Cody made me pick out lots of them, I don’t need anymore”
“Don’t be ridiculous, of course you do”
“Are you going to do anything?” Maddie linked us as she turned completely around but we both laughed and waved
“Have fun baby”
“You will regret abandoning me!” She warned as they turned the corner and vanished
MADELYN’S POV
After changing my dress for the third time, Evet finally declared happily that this was the one.
“Are you sure?”
I looked down at the strapless gold and white dress, the gold snugly held my chest to my waist and while the bottom the flowing maxi dress was a white fabric.
“Of course I’m sure” She waved her hand from where she stood rummaging through my new jewelry box “Now come here and put this gold necklace on”
I bit my lip nervously as I walked away from the mirror and went over to Evet who was wearing a very stunning red dress that suited her skin tone perfectly.
I sat down at the make-up desk the twins had set up for me and Evet forced me to try on 6 necklaces before she found one she actually liked.
Evets maid and my maid in training had been helping us throughout the process of getting dressed but it was all to weird for me, so I asked Evet to send them off to do another task.
“There now, pure perfection” Evet said happily once she’d decided on a diamond necklace with the thick gold band “I am good”
I smiled and shook my head at her but she wasn’t wrong, she even done my hair and makeup and I actually felt very pretty.
“We should get going before granny thinks we’ve stood her up”
“Sure”
I didn’t want her to think that either, I didn’t want her mad at me again, the thought of the twins taking another punishment for me was terrifying.
“I wish the twins could come with me” I admitted as we drove back to the packs tower where this party would be taking place.
“You have to learn to do things without them” Evet told me as she looked into a small hand held mirror to check her makeup “You will be Queen one day and you can’t always hold their hands, besides, girls have more fun when boys aren’t around”
I laughed softly “I’ll take your word for it” I commented “Can we go over everyone’s names again?”
Evet looked at me patiently, we’d been going over names and ranks since yesterday and even though I was a fast learner, I was still nervous.
I just hoped I wouldn’t have a panic attack and ruin the event.
When we pulled up at the tower, I felt my heart racing but it eased up a little when I noticed Koda waiting by the entrance.
“Koda!” I smiled and rushed up to him as he opened his arms.
“Hi, baby” He hugged me before pushing me back at arms length “My goddess, you look so dam good”
I blushed at his compliment “Thanks but it’s all Evet”
“Trust me” Koda linked me and I jumped a little, I still wasn’t used to the connection yet, even in my old pack, no one ever linked me “This body of yours is not my cousin’s doing, I can’t wait to rip this dress off you tonight”
“Koda!” I blushed and pushed him affectionately, but he just kissed my cheek
“I have to go help the search party, they think they have a lead on Troy” He told me “But I wanted to wait here and see you all dressed up first, have fun today and don’t let my grandmother bully you”
I nodded but there was no way I was arguing with that woman.
“Do you mind Alpha?” Evet put her hands on her hips “Firstly, you haven’t complimented me and secondly, you’re holding us up”
Koda laughed and bowed “My apologies your majesty, you look lovely”
“Yes, I know” She said smugly.
“Where’s Jax, is he going with you?”
Koda smirked and shook his head, he seemed very pleased with himself “Na, he’s stuck doing paperwork” Koda told me as he put a loose strand of hair back in place on my head “We both wanted out of the office so we played rock, paper, scissors and I won”
“I’m sure he loved that” I smiled.
“I’ll pay for it in some way down the track” Koda smiled and wound his arms tighter around my waist “But for now, I get the fresh air and sunshine and he gets a computer”
I laughed and shook my head “Well enjoy” I told him “But please be safe”
“It will be alright” He kissed me gently on the lips “I won’t be far from the main city and should be back in a few hours”
“Well, off you go then” Evet waved her hand to dismiss him “Say your goodbyes Maddie, we have a party to go to”
“Fine” I pouted, I didn’t want to move from his arms.
I really had been feeling very territorial of the twins since we’d slept together but I was hiding it the best I could, I still remember the twins pointing out that they didn’t sleep with virgins because they got clingy, so I didn’t want to upset them by reacting that way.
“We’ll see you later tonight” Koda kissed me again and pulled back “Have fun”
I watched him walk over to a group of men and climb into a car but Evet pulled on my arm, forcing me to refocus and together we went inside.
I nervously fussed with the dress until we reached the party.
It was being held in the same area the Ball had been, only this time the theme was very different.
Over each joining section of the rooms were gorgeous flower arrangements in the shape of archway.
Huge vases were in each corner of the room and filled with equally beautiful flowers arrangements.
The smell around the room was amazing and made me feel like I’d walked into a flower garden.
White silks were handing around windows and the huge entrance to the balcony.
There was a band playing soft music on a stage where dozens of women were standing around and talking, all in the most stunning dresses I’d ever seen.
Much like the Ball, buffet tables were set up and filled with foods I’d never seen or tasted before and waiters weaved through the crowds holding drinks trays and wearing suits.
