His eyes softened as he looked at mine, “Anything for you darling.”
With that we left. As soon as we are outside, Lacy burst into laughter, “First, Rebel, oh my goddess, you were incredible on that guitar and your voice is beautiful. Second, don’t think I didn’t catch your Petty Patty moment in there. Well done!”
Austin looked at me, “I hope you will play for me sometime.” Holding me closer as kissed my temple. “Well, my Alpha, I didn’t know you played too. Maybe we can play together sometime.” I said leaning into him to catch more of his scent.
Austin POV
I was nervous about Rebel and Lacy going out. I wanted to go with Rebel, but I know she needs to build relationships in the pack. Lacy might annoy me to no end, but I think if anyone can get Rebel to open up more, it’s her.
I did mind link Lacy and asked her to take random pictures without Rebel knowing and to send me her sizes, in case I ever want to get her something. I smiled when I saw pictures of her in silly sunglasses and hats. She looked very care free. That’s what I want for her, happiness.
I heard Renz chuckle, “Never that I would see the day where Alpha Austin Willis would be a love sick puppy.”
“Fuck off Renz. I’m just making sure she’s happy. After what she told us today, she deserves nothing but happiness.” I said seriously. “Have you been able to find out anything on Rebel and her good for nothing family?”
“On Rebel, no. It’s like she doesn’t exist there. Her bastard father kept her hidden. However, I did find out that Harris, his mate and his other daughter were sent to the dungeons, but I haven’t found out why yet.” Renz said curiously. “Since they are all in the dungeons, I sent a scout to the Lawson house. I’m waiting to hear something back from the scout.” He added.
“I don’t like this Renz. She didn’t exist in that pack. Cullen either didn’t know or didn’t care. It sounds like this was isolated to Lawson, but I want to know if there are any others.”
Just then Renz eyes glaze over. When he refocuses, he updates me, “The scout has returned and he says he has some interesting things to report. I hope you don’t mind, but I told him to come here directly.”
“Not in the least. I very much want to hear what he found out.” I say.
A few moments later, the scout knocks and comes in. “Alpha, Beta, good afternoon.” He says.
“Hello Dylan, what do you have to report?” I ask, cutting to the point.
“I traced Luna’s scent to the Lawson house. The house looks abandoned now. When I went in, it looked like nothing had been moved or touched. I went searching for anything I could find. There were no documents, no pictures, nothing of Luna. Plenty of the rest of the household though. It’s like she was a ghost living there. I found an office that I assumed was the former beta’s and started digging through his desk. I found this picture. If I didn’t know any better, I would think this was our Luna. She is a spitting image of this lady.”, He handed me the picture. It was old and the edges were worn, but the woman in the picture looks a lot like my mate. I turn the picture over and there is a dedication, “To Harris, I love you to the moon and back. Yours always, Sydney.’
“Were you able to find out anything in his office about this woman Sydney?” I asked.
“No Alpha, but I guess fate was on my side today. As I was getting ready to leave, I saw a young woman approaching the house. She looked like she was going to run, but then I asked her where I could find the Lawson’s. She told me they were thrown in the dungeons. I asked her if she knew why. That’s where things get really interesting and disturbing Alpha.” He said that last part like telling me to brace myself.
“Go on, what happened?” I say.
“Turns out the young woman was one of the omegas that worked there the night everything happened. She said
Luna had worked all day to prepare the evening dinner. Then she packed up her stuff for the evening and left She said, this was what always happened. Luna would have to make the dinner before the guests arrived, then pack her stuff up and leave before anyone could see her and return by midnight after the guests left. Before she left, her sister said, when she becomes Luna that she would have her banished so she would not be a stain on the family.” He stopped when he heard me growl.
I close my eyes to get control of my temper, “Continue.” I say.
Dylan starts again, “After Luna left, that’s when everything hit the fan. Alpha Cullen came in and his wolf took over and raced to the attic. The omega said that was Luna’s room. Cullen started asking after Luna and demanded that Harris bring her to him immediately. He was gone over an hour but couldn’t find Luna. When he returned empty handed, Luna’s sister got angry that Cullen was only interested in finding Luna and wasn’t paying her any attention. At that point, Alpha Cullen wanted to know what was going on. He Alpha commanded Harris to tell him the truth about our Luna. Then he waited until midnight for Luna to return. He even ate what she made especially for him. The omega even said that Alpha Cullen wouldn’t allow the Lawson’s to eat with him, since they didn’t allow Luna to eat at their table.” He explained.
“It doesn’t sound like he knew about how Rebel was being treated.” I look over to Renz.
The scout continued, “No. He didn’t know from what the omega told me Alpha. He was in a fit of rage, but she said she didn’t think it was because of Luna but because if word got out about it, that it would make Ironclaw look bad, and by way, he would look bad. But that isn’t the most disturbing part Alpha.” He said hesitantly.
“It wouldn’t surprise me, it’s Cullen. He is usually a disappointment.” I say. “Go on, continue.”
“The omega said Alpha Cullen mind linked his beta and guards to come to the Lawson house to arrest and throw all three of them in the dungeons after midnight. Apparently, the omega overheard Alpha Cullen tell his beta, that he will look like a hero to Luna and use that to convince her to be his mistress while he chooses another she-
wolf to be his Luna.”
At that, I snarled and got to my two feet. All I’m seeing is red. That fucking bastard wants to make Rebel a fucking plaything while he parades another woman as his Luna. I’m glad I found her. She’s mine. I will fucking snap his neck. “Thank you Dylan. Excellent work.” I look at Renz, “We need to find out who this woman named Sydney is Renz. If that’s her mother, maybe Rebel will have other family she doesn’t know about and will be happy to know she exists.”
Dylan bows and leaves and Renz grabs the picture and says, “Austin, I think there is a lot of mystery to Luna that not even she knows about. I think we should see if she knows anything about her birth mother.”
“Agreed.” Just then, a picture from Lacy comes through. It’s a picture of my mate walking into Victoria’s Secret. All my anger turned to lust and all my blood traveled at lightening speed to my dick.
All Lacy said in the text was, ’38D’
“Fuck me!” I growled.
Renz starts laughing. “Fuck Alpha, mind calming down? Your fucking pheromones are making me nauseous.’
“Fuck off Renz. They are both at Victoria’s Secret.” At that, Renz growls approvingly.
“Well, I know at least one of us will be having a great time with our mate tonight then.” He smirked and walked out.
At that moment, I decided I’m going to find my mate. If I find her trying on some Victoria’s Secret, then I will chalk it up to divine intervention.

Riding in the car in the back seat, Lacy starts to video call me. When I answer, the camera is facing my mate. She is playing on a beautiful guitar and singing. She sounds angelic, I forgot that she likes playing. She told me as much, but I’ve been more concerned about finding out who she is and making her worthless family pay for hurting her.
She strums the guitar so effortlessly. How did she learn to play? I know she said she was self-taught, but there is something in the way she learns I find intriguing. She ingests information almost like she is a computer. I’ve never met a person who learns so quickly. She is smart and I wonder how much of a genius she would have been if she hadn’t been robbed of an education.
