“No…”
“Garret,” Alpha Edward growled in warning.
“Why would I send you flowers and not put my name besides, I would send you roses if I did,” He shrugged.
“Roses, why?” I asked, getting out of topic,
“You look like you like roses, aren’t they women’s favorites?” He knitted his eyebrows.
“Yes, girls do like Roses,” Added Marcos.
“Well, I’m a sunflower type of girl,” I inhaled them
“Really…” Before Garret could say more, the Alpha hit the table with his palm, cracking it even though he didn’t mean to. We all went silent
“Who sent you those flowers?”
“I don’t know, it doesn’t have a card,” I told him.
“You don’t seem to know a lot of things, do you? First, it was the attack, and now, the flowers,” He all but growled. It was hard to resist him when he was looking like that and my mind wandered to a place they shouldn’t.
“Looks like the Luna has a secret admirer,” Marcus mused, eyes sparkling with mischief. His brother growled
“Burn them,”
“No,” I immediately said, challenging the Alpha. Everyone turned their gazes on me.
“They could be poisoned,” He gritted his teeth.
“Then I’ll die a happy woman,” I smiled sarcastically, making him angry.
“Burn them,” He ordered a servant, I grabbed my boxes of chocolate and flowers closer to my chest. No one is getting them from me.
“Don’t be childish,” The Alpha growled.
“They are not poisoned, please,” I said.
“How can you be sure of that?” Garret asked and the Alpha nodded in support. Now they are on the same side? Please.
“Because she received a room full of them and she’s alive, she even distributed them at the hospital,” Marcus shrugged.
“What? And I’m just hearing this now?!”
“I didn’t know you cared, brother,”
“Don’t be an idiot, Marcus,” Alpha Edward snapped. While the men bickered, I ran to my room and locked the door.
“You’re been silly,” I heard the Alpha growl outside my door.
“You are not taking my chocolate from me,” I shouted. Opening my Ferrero rocher chocolate to eat one.
“It might be poisoned, you’re not just a fucking pesty mutt, you’re a Luna to the Golden Stone Pack,” He reasoned. I looked at the chocolate greedily, however, I knew he was right to fear. Alpha Edward has a lot of enemies.
“Then you’ll get what you want! Getting rid of me without lifting a finger, my pack will still be yours so it’s a win for you,” I retorted. I heard some people on the other side of the door, laughing at my childish behavior.
“Meyers, this is not a comedy show,”
The door clicked open and Alpha Edward pushed the door open just as I put one chocolate in my mouth. He sighed in frustration.
“Don’t dare chew that,” He warned sternly.
“I will,” I said with a full mouth.
“Caliana Meyers don’t make me reach into your mouth with my fingers to remove it because I will, I have a five-year-old child, trust me when I say I’ve done it before,” My eyes widen and he gives me a look that says I would do it. My gaze trailed to the bystanders watching, trying to muffle their laughter. Seeing that my willpower weakened, he spread his hand out. I didn’t know what he wanted me to do but I soon realized he wanted me to spit my chocolate there. I did.
“What you did is dangerous,”
“Being in this pack is dangerous,” I answered quietly, an emotion I’m unfamiliar with appeared in his gaze. He took my boxes of chocolates and flowers. He gave me one last look before exiting the room.
I sighed once Lena closed the door and lay in bed. That was fun. I remember saying before closing my eyes to sleep.
Caliana’s POV
The next morning, I opened my eyes and sat straight, stretching my limbs when I noticed something on my bedside table, sunflowers, and two boxes of my favorite chocolates with two notes written.
“Eat this, smell this,” I smiled. The notes weren’t signed but it knew it was from Alpha Edward. My heart melted at this gesture even though I didn’t want it to. I had to be stronger and better than this.
I got ready for my day in a black dress, wore sneakers, and put my hair in a high ponytail before going downstairs. In the foyer, where a man and woman waited for me, they looked professional and had documents in their hands.
“Good morning, Luna,” They greeted in chorus.
“Good morning to you, may I help you?” They shared a glance and smiled. Juanita was by my side in a flash.
“Uncle, aunty, shouldn’t you at least give her a month before you start bombarding her with work?” She chuckled.
“My dear we can’t wait, it has been a month since she came. The pack activities and school programs must go on,” She said. I smiled politely.
“Are you the ones in charge of giving me my duties?” I asked and she smiled.
“That is not my job, I just tell you what events are happening and you tell us what to do,” She said.
“Oh, I see, and do you have something for me…” I trailed, remembering they didn’t introduce themselves to me.
“Merabi and this is my colleague Steven,”
We sat in one of the salons and tea was served to us,
