It was a question that I knew better to ask. Elton was never one who liked a few detergents, and the number of times that he has beaten me up for cleaning his coffee, after HE spilled it, with lemon soap rather than the apple one that he liked, though it was one that wasn’t even available in his office when he asked me to instantly clean it, were countless. But I knew better than to ask him to go and get it. I knew that it was something that he did purposely, I just couldn’t do anything about it.
I picked up a window spray and a floor detergent, and placed them inside the bucket. I picked the broom that I wanted to use and finally chose to walk out of the kitchen, following the scent toward the Alpha’s suite. The thing was, the place was spotless clean, literally, and I didn’t really know what they needed me to clean; however, I didn’t bother asking questions. I just planned to do as told, not wanting to anger or annoy anyone. The last thing that I wanted or needed was to deal with a punishment, I knew how these men punished their women, and I have had my own share of punishments; therefore, that was the last thing that I wanted to risk.
My wolf purred the second that I entered the Alpha’s bedroom, and I had to admit, I would have been lying if I said that I didn’t feel somewhat content by just taking his scent. The way he looked at me earlier, him studying my expression the way that he did, trying to read me, everything played in my head.
I walked toward his dresser where his perfume was placed and smiled as I opened the cap. But the peaceful moment didn’t last for long as I looked at the clock, recalling the fact that this was the time that I would have been walking down the aisle to marry Elton. The man would be going crazy right now, and I couldn’t imagine how angry he would be or what he would be doing to me if he found me. I quickly closed the cap and put it down, my hand shaking as I processed what I was doing, snapping myself out of the sudden daze that I entered.
My heart raced, and I couldn’t help but fear the outcome of what I was doing.
I looked at my reflection for a second before noticing how pale I became, my hands shook, and I couldn’t help but find it harder to breathe as I found myself sinking in my fear and insecurity. I didn’t even know how my father would feel about this, but I doubt that he would be any less angry than Elton was.
The suite’s door opened, breaking my train of thoughts before I caught the scent of Liana as she walked toward the room. I quickly rushed toward the bucket and grabbed the cloth and glass spray. I practically ran back to the dresser before spraying the mirror with the spray just in time as the door opened. Liana raised an eyebrow at me, but I kept to what I was doing for a second, wiping the liquid off the mirror before I turned around to face her.
She simply raised an eyebrow at me before putting a vacuum on the floor by the door as she looked around the room for a second before turning to leave.
“Use it,” she said, looking at me over her shoulder as she gave her direct order, catching me off guard. “you would need to vacuum the carpet…”
********************************
I took a deep breath as I heard the suite’s door open for the third time today.
It was Liana, that was one thing that I knew, but I knew that she was here to check on how I was.
I have been here, tending to the suit, cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and now, I was ironing the Alpha’s clothes.
I looked up from the shirt that I was ironing as Liana approached my bedroom. The door was open, I didn’t really need to close it at the moment considering the fact that the Alpha wasn’t here, and I was alone.
I had taken off my apron a while ago and the bun that was on my hair was loosened to a normal ponytail instead. Liana looked at me for a second, taking in my appearance before smiling at the nearly done laundry.
It was a while past noon, and I had to admit, the last thing that I expected was for the ‘suite’ to turn out to be an apartment within the mansion in the Estate. But I could expect the fact that the Alpha wanted his own privacy at times, however, it explained to me why he wanted someone to work for him alone. To say the least, this apartment needed time to get done with.
She looked behind her and I frowned as a girl in a black dress like mine entered carrying a tray. She walked toward, I assume, the kitchenette that the Alpha had here. One thing that Liana failed to mention to me when it came to preparing the Alpha’s coffee was that I could actually do it here. However, I didn’t mind, maybe she wanted to teach me how to do it herself.
“Take a break and get something to eat.” She said, taking me off guard before another girl walked inside with a second plate. She walked toward the kitchenette before Liana nodded at the two girls to walk out, leaving us alone.
Liana nodded at me to follow her and I frowned in confusion before turning off the iron, fearing the fact that I could have done something wrong. I walked behind the woman who didn’t say a word as she guided me toward the kitchenette. She sat on one of the stools before nodding at me to take a seat. I had to admit, my once calm heartbeat raced, and I had to clench my fist over my dress to ensure control of my shaking hands before gathering the guts to ask.
“Did I do anything wrong?” I asked, gulping my saliva, not wanting to choke on it.
“No, not at all,” she said, frowning in confusion before nodding at me to sit again, this time, pushing the plate of food toward me. “I just thought that you might not want to eat by yourself; therefore, I came to join you…”
Killian:
“Sergio Diaz, just the man that I was looking for.” I said, glaring at the man before shooting one of his bodyguards. The man’s body fell, hitting the ground as blood poured from his head. Vladimir did the same to the other one, watching as he fell to the ground, taking his last breath before Sergio had time to process what was going on.
His eyes widened in surprise at my interruption, but he knew not to think of trying something stupid. If anything, he knew that I was the last person that he would want to mess with. And considering that he was doing something behind my back, he knew that I wasn’t here for a drink.
“Killian Ivanov, to what do I owe the honor?” he asked, trying to give me the best smile that he could muster. He looked down at the man who was sitting on the desk. I could tell that this was the last thing that both men expected when they tried having this deal, but then again, the last thing that I would ever do was leave my grounds unsupervised. To say the least, they should have known better than to try crossing that limit. “I apologize, but I have yet to introduce the two of you, Arturo de Maria, Pakhan of the Bratva, Vor v Zakone, Killian Ivanov.” Boss of bosses of the Mafia, thieves in law.
The fact that he chose to lie about who the man was made me want to laugh. It only meant that he knew very well that this wasn’t something that he was supposed to do. And it was something that he was going to be punished for.
“Odin ne yavlyaetsya vorom na svoey territorii, Sergio.” One is not a thief in his territory, Sergio. I said, glaring at the man whose heart raced against his ribcage. The man was well aware that no business deals were made in my territory without my permission, and those who thought that they could cross their limits often faced deadly consequences; however, considering the fact that he chose not to respect that, I was going to have to deal with him my way.
