Chapter 139 – Lycan Prince’s Slave Mate (Madelyn & Jaxson) Novel Free Online by Jess

“In the back room”

“Thank you”

I walked through the hallway filled with old oil paintings of the gardens and I thought of painting Madelyn in that style, she’d look so beautiful.

I knocked on Sierra’s office door before going inside, and I found a very accentric woman with bushy blonde hair, pulled up in a messy bun.

She was a thin woman, but you’d never know, she always wore large oversize overall’s with daggy shirts and hig jackets

“Sierra”

“Hello Alpha!” She sang happily and waved me over, causing her bangles to gingle “Perfect timing, I was just writing my report”

I frowned in amusement “You were painting a snail” I corrected

She’d been standing by her windowsill when I walked in, and she was painting something onto a snail

“Oh, this?” She laughed and put the brush down ‘No, not painting, this is a drug, I’m testing to see if it’ll get the snail high”

I did a double take for a second “Excuse me?” I laughed and walked over to check it out “What is the point of this?”

“Point?” She asked as if it were obvious “No point really, I just wanted to see how long it would take to get the snail high, anyway” She clapped her hands together and smiled “You want to know about your young lady, if you’ll come with me”

I followed Sierra over to another counter where several herbs and flowers were cut up around a bowl and a few glass beakers.

“The drug the Luna was given is something I’ve never seen before” She told me “From what I can tell, this drug alters someone’s mind. I’ve tested it on myself and I saw”

“You tested an unknown drug on yourself!?”

“Yes” She said as if I was being dense “Anyway, I saw things I didn’t even know existed, I was surrounded in this strange glowing haze and I had a silver glowing string around my wrist and there when I went into the garden, I saw all these glowing lines going through all the trees and flowers, it was amazing, I wish I had more of this drug, but alas, I used it all”

“Don’t ever do something like this again” I said angrily.

“I had to find out what we were working with” She said unfazed “Anyway, there doesn’t appear to be any short term effects of the drug, still testing for long-term effects, but so far, I feel right as rain”

“Wonderful” I nodded as I eyed her. The woman was nuts, brilliant, but nuts.

“Right, well thanks for testing the drug” I smiled “No more drugs!”

“Today or forever?” She asked as she walked back over to her snail and knelt closer to it

“Give me strength” I shook my head and left the woman and her damn snail

I went back to my office and filled Koda in on everything and, lucky me, there was still paperwork waiting for me.

Just before Lunch, Madelyn linked us to go eat with her cousin, who she’d run into on the way back to the tower, which riled me up again, I didn’t like the idea of her being alone with a man we didn’t know, but she sounded so excited, and we gave in, to make her happy, but neither of us liked the idea.

“Let’s go eat” Koda suggested, after another twenty minutes of work ‘Food will help with my mood”

“Sure”

When we left the office, our father was walking down the hall with an Alpha.

“Boy’s, good, come here” Dad called out to us.

“Yes?” Koda asked as he looked over the Alpha with a thoughtful expression.

“This is Alpha Tyrone” Our father told us and placed his hand on Tyrone’s shoulder “He wasn’t sure if he could make it due to conflicts with the Dragons in his area, but thankfully, he found the time. He’s Madelyn’s second cousin”

“What did you just say?” Koda’s eyes widened as he looked at me.

“We met an Alpha Tyrone last night, who claimed to be Madelyn’s cousin” I felt my heart racing hard “She’s with him right now, are you sure this man is the real Tyrone?”

“Of course I am, I’ve met him before”

“GUARDS!” Koda shouted through the link, as we both spun and ran from the room instantly “I WANT EVERYONE NEAR THE LUNA, TO PROTECT HER NOW!”

“Madelyn!” I shouted through the link “Where are you, get away from Tyrone now!”

MADELYN’S POV

Kara dragged me all over the city, introducing me to more people than I’d ever even spoken to. All of them seemed very professional and kind, but I felt like a monkey in a zoo, everyone kept staring at me, like I was on display. I could tell they wanted to ask me questions about my past or the twins and how things worked between us, but no one actually said the words out loud.

Finally, just before lunch, Kara let me go. She had a lunch meeting to go to and pointed out that I had a lesson with Evelyn to get to, and seeing as I was feeling overwhelmed with all this event planning, I was not going to argue about escaping and quickly climbed into the car before Kara changed her mind, and we drove back to the tower.

As I walked up to the tower, lost in thought, I smelt the familiar scent of my newly discovered cousin Tyrone, and I turned to see him staring at me from the garden.

I waved in greeting “Tyrone” I wandered over to him, noticing that my guards followed a little closer than usual.

I looked at them in confusion and annoyance, but they avoided my eyeline, and stood to attention once I’d reached my cousin.

“Hi” I smiled up at him. Why were Lycan men all so tall?

“How are you Maddie?” He asked “I was very worried about you last night. Did you ever find out who drugged you?”

“I don’t think so”

“You don’t think so?” Tyrone asked, as if he doubted my words “Or your mates haven’t told you?”

One of the guards stiffened and growled softly, which confused me again. Why was he angry all of a sudden?

I turned back to my cousin “You think they found the person but lied to me?” I asked “Why would they do that?”

“Perhaps they don’t think you’re strong enough to handle it” He shrugged “A lot of Alphas are controlling and think everyone’s beneath them, even their mates”

“With all due respect, Luna” The guard Alex, who’d growled “But if the Prince’s lied, it’s for a reason and not because they think you’re less than them, and no one, not even one of the Alpha’s, has any right to question or disrespect them”

“I wasn’t disrespecting them” Tyrone snapped back calmly “You don’t think that, do you, Luna? Because it was not my intention, I was just concerned about you. It can be difficult to be in a relationship where your mates don’t see you as an equal”

“No, it’s okay” I smiled politely. Was he disrespecting my mates and I just didn’t notice because I’m so used to that kind of behavior from Alpha’s?

“Are you busy right now?” Tyrone asked “I was going to have a late lunch, and I’d love for you to join me. We could get to know one another better”

“I had to read some books about the Alpha’s” I admitted “But, I’m sure Evelyn wouldn’t mind doing our lesson later, I haven’t eaten yet”

“Please forgive another interruption, Luna” Alex bowed “But, the Alpha’s have given us a list of people you are allowed to be around alone and this Alpha isn’t one of them”

“A list?” I complained “The twins never told me about this, I will link them and see if it’s okay”
