Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 14 – The Lycan King’s Army

“Do you think the other unit heard me coming up the stairs, Commander?” Moura asks, and I tell her that I doubt their hearing is as good as mine. My unit is aware of my ability, and with Moura’s interest in bloodlines with gifts, she narrowed my bloodline down to two Packs.

When she told me that there were only two bloodlines known to get the gift of hearing, I was surprised to hear about it, but we all growled and roared when she told us what used to happen to Wolves or Lycans with a gift, and it made me wonder if that was why Mom and Dad never mentioned it to me.

My unit swore to me they would never reveal my gift to anyone, and eventually, it was Chaya who figured out from which Pack I was and who my parents are.

It explained quite a few things to the members of my unit, and it made working together much easier.

Morgan’s p.o.v.

To take Moura’s mind off the Dipshit, I decided to tell them a little more about my family.

“You know the name of my birth pack, but I doubt you know much about the Alpha family,” I say as we sit down with some coffee in our hands. “I have six older brothers, and there are two years and a month between each of us, and to make it even more creepy, we were all born on the first of the month.”

I chuckle as they look at one another in shock before returning their attention to me.

“Please don’t ask me how our parents did it. I was never able to figure it out. We all spent our first year in the same room because Mom wanted the nursery near their bedroom, until our first birthday, when we got our own room.

Our pack members helped Dad prepare for each birth, and my brothers could sleep in the nursery immediately.

Ashton was twelve when he asked Mom if she had ever wanted a little girl, and Mom explained that we don’t always get what we want.” I let the words sink in.

Moura looks at me for a few seconds before her eyes widen and a smile appears on my face.

“Yes, Moura. Ashton asked that question the day before I was born. He wanted a baby sister after five baby brothers, and Mom had said, If I get a baby girl tomorrow, I will be over the moon.” I hear everyone chuckle.

“Your Mom didn’t know she was pregnant,” Moura states as Waylen fills our mugs again.

“You can imagine the laughter coming from Ashton, because he knew that would be impossible, and even Dad was chuckling. They had tried a few times to get pregnant again after Landon was born, but a month or two before I was born, Mom gave up on ever having a baby girl.

Mom collapsed the next day just after breakfast, and Dad rushed her to the infirmary with my Brothers running behind him. Dad kept feeling the excruciating pain Mom went through from time to time, and it took hours before our Pack doctor came out to see Dad.

I always asked why he hadn’t figured it out by the time they got to the infirmary. You want to know what Dad always answered.” I look around the room to see if any of them might have an idea.

“I wasn’t expecting another birth, so I didn’t connect it to labor pains. Doc had confirmed that Mom wasn’t pregnant, and therefore, I didn’t realize it could be labor pains. That was his answer.” I smile as almost all of them shake their heads.

“Ashton was born in January, and if you do the math, you will know that I was a summer Pup as I was born in July. So, I am the youngest of seven Pups and also the only female, but my Brothers never treated me any differently. Mom always called me her little miracle.”

I succeeded in taking everyone’s attention off the issue Moura had with that stupid Commander, and his ass is mine on Monday.

The rest of our four days off passed fast, and on our last day, I asked Moura to cut my hair.

I am getting sick and tired of having to braid it every time. I also got in trouble during training a few times; either it would get stuck somewhere, or someone would grab it, putting me at a disadvantage.

She cut it off just above my shoulder, the same length all around, and I can still put it in a high ponytail.

We had done it in the privacy of my bedroom, and when I walked into the living room, I got a lot of whistling from the males and females in my unit.

It makes my morning routine a lot easier, and as I exit my bathroom, I smell that breakfast is being prepared. I put on my Commander uniform and grab my high-heeled boots as I walk out of my bedroom.
