Chapter 140 – Lycan Prince’s Slave Mate (Madelyn & Jaxson) Novel Free Online by Jess

“Since when does a Queen need to ask permission to do anything?” Tyrone asked, and he looked very annoyed “Perhaps I wasn’t wrong about them thinking they’re above you after all”

“I’m sure they’re just worried about my safety”

“Or they’re trying to control you”

Alex growled again and stepped closer to me “Speak about the Prince’s like that again and there will be consequences”

“You seem to forget yourself, Beta!” My cousin’s eyes darkened.

“Please, stop” I stood between them and placed my hand on each of their chests “Give me a moment, and I’ll talk to the twins”

I walked a few feet from my cousin who was glaring at Alex with his arms crossed

“Jax, Koda?” I connected our minds

“Yes, baby?” Koda’s soothing voice echoed in my mind.

“Is everything alright?” Jaxson ask, sounding amused rather than concerned “Is mother and the committee driving you crazy?”

“No, nothing like that” I laughed “I actually escaped because of my lesson with Evelyn, but I ran into Tyrone, and he’s asked to take me to lunch, but my guard, Alex, is refusing to let me go with him”

“Good” Jaxson commented, as if it was no big deal “Is there anything else?”

“Jax, shut up” Koda exhaled “I assume, you would like to go to lunch with him, so you’re linking us to get our permission”

“Yes” I said in a slightly annoyed tone “Since when do I have a list of people I can be alone with?”

“Since the night we met” Jaxson answered “And your cousin isn’t on it. We just met him, and we don’t know if he’s a threat”

“He’s my family. What kind of threat could he be?”

“Baby, our family is Fenrir, and he started a war” Koda pointed out “Not all families are good for you”

“But I’ll be with my guards” I pointed out “And we’ll stay somewhere public. I won’t be alone with him, please. You said this morning that I’m not beneath you. I shouldn’t need your permission to spend time with someone”

Tyrone’s words had stung more than I’d let him see. Did the twins lie to me? Maybe they did think I was beneath them?

“Perhaps I should have worded myself better this morning” Jaxson told me firmly “When it comes to our everyday life, you’re not beneath us, but when it comes to yours or our future children’s safety, you are, and our word is law”

“We just want to keep you safe” Koda added.

“I don’t need to be kept safe from Tyrone” I argued “Please, I want to know my family!”

The twins went silent for a moment, so I waited patiently when I realized they must have been talking about the situation privately.

“You will go to some place, public” Jax told me and I squealed happily.

“You are not allowed alone with him, for any reason” Koda said

“I won’t, I promise” I said happily “Thanks, I love you”

“I love you”

“Me too” Jax said, and I cut the link.

I turned with excitement and skipped back over “I’m allowed, let’s go”

While we walked back to the car I’d just climbed from, I linked Evelyn and told her I was having lunch and would be late. She was annoyed but agreed, and I got the impression I was about to get a double work load when I returned later.

The guards wouldn’t let Tyrone sit in the back of the car with me and forced him to sit in the front seat with the driver who took us to a restaurant Tyrone recommended.

I was a little nervous about having lunch with him alone, other than my mates, Scott and Alpha Troy, I’d never been around men alone, and I had no idea of what to talk about.

When we walked into the restaurant, we got a lot of strange looks and I felt very uncomfortable. Did it appear as if I was on a date with another Alpha? I stepped a little further away from him as we were shown to our table by the hostess

“The waitress will be here shortly, Luna”

“Thank you’

Tyrone pulled out the chair I was reaching for, so I just moved to the next one, but he grabbed the chair and stopped me

“What’s wrong?”

“I was pulling this chair out for you”

“Oh” I blushed, feeling stupid “I thought, you wanted to sit there, thank you”

I quickly sat down on the chair he’d pulled out, and he sat on the other side next to me, as he glared at me

“What?”

“Why didn’t you say anything to me?” He asked “You wanted to sit there and thought I was taking the seat from you”

“It was just a chair?”

“It’s not just a chair!” He raised his voice and I leaned back in surprise “Don’t let anyone take anything from you, don’t let anyone push you around”

“I’m sorry”

“Don’t apologize” He snapped again “You’re a Queen and Queens don’t show weakness, especially in public, people will take advantage of you’

“Do you really see me as a Queen?”

“Yes”

“Then don’t tell me what to do” I pointed out and opened the menu “Just because I don’t speak up about insignificant things, like a chair, it doesn’t mean I’m weak”

“I apologize” He said, sounding ashamed, and I looked up, feeling guilty, but he was smiling “Shall we order?”

I relaxed a little and scanned the menu. After we ordered and got our food, I looked over and noticed a small mark, that matched mine.

“Oh, look” I pointed to my cousin’s hand and held up mine “We have the same birthmark”

Tyrone smiled and touched my hand. He ran his finger over the small half moon freckle, near my thumb, and I saw a strange sadness in his eyes “Yes, we do” He looked up at me “It’s a family trait, from the male side of the family”

“Really” I smiled, happily at that revelation “So, my grandfather would have had the mark too?”

“Grandfather?” He asked, but then he laughed and let go of my hand “Right, yes. He would have”
