“Morning” Koda rubbed his eyes and yawned.

Koda gave a sleepy huff, as he sat up, and stretched, before leaning over me, and Madelyn, and giving her a kiss on her cheek.
As he leaned back, he looked at my face “You look like sh*t, didn’t you get enough beauty sleep last night?”
He laughed softly, and I rolled my eyes “Hard to sleep when all you can hear is your mate and brother f*cking”
“Oh” He smiled, and ruffled his hair “If you were awake, than why didn’t you join us?”
“She was upset” I pointed out, and played with her hair more, feeling the soft strands flowing through my fingers “She needed comfort, and I would have been too rough. You were always better at being gentle than me”
“I’m better at a lot of things” He smirked. I flipped him off, and he laughed, but then he turned serious “She let me see the letter”
“Show me” I reached my hand out and he transferred last night’s memories into my mind “If that delusional pr*ck, thinks we’re just going to hand over our girl, then he’s in for the fight of his life”
“This keeper might be a problem” Koda commented as he stretched again.
“Not if we find and kill him before he gets anywhere near her”
“We can’t just kill him”
“Not with that attitude we can’t” I said casually, but then I frowned and looked back at my brother “Wait, there were two pages to that letter, what did the other page say?”
“Nothing” Koda shrugged “It was blank”
“Why would he give her a blank page?”
“It was probably just an oversight” Koda shrugged, but I didn’t think so, there had to be something on that blank page, maybe he used invisible ink?
“I want to check out that page” I told my brother “There’s something hidden on it”
“Sure there is. Anyway” Koda rolled his eyes “We have other issues to worry about. At some point, we’ll have to talk to her about Blake and Skyler”
“Don’t mention those b*tches while we’re in bed with our girl!” I could feel my temper rising.
“Cut it out” Koda whispered angrily “We can’t put it off, dad will want an answer, plus, we have to decide which of us is going away”
“Not it”
“Scr*w you” He smiled and held up his fist.
I sighed, and held up my fist, and we played the game, I was thrilled when I won, but Koda glared at me.
“A good big brother would have let me win”
“Nice guilt trip” I smiled brightly “Does it come with a side of, shut up, and deal with it”
“I hate you” He pouted, and wound his arms around Madelyn.
“Get off” I grumbled, and hit the back of his head “You had her last night, she’s mine right now”
Our tiny argument must have broken through our girl’s sleep, because she moaned softly, and started to come around.
“Great, now look what you’ve done!”
“Me?” He acted offended, and sat up “It’s your fault, all I wanted to do was give her a hug”
Madelyn let out a long groan, and stretched, as she pulled out of my arms, and moved onto her back.
Her movements caused her scent to stir around the room and I froze for a moment, something was strange about her scent.
“Do you smell that?” Koda asked in awe, he leaned down and smelt her throat “How the hell does she smell even better than she usually does”
My eyes widened, and I hit Koda’s arms “Her heat”
“There’s no way” He shook his head “Women dont get their first heat for a least a month after the marking, it’s only been, what? A week? It’s not possible”
“She’s a white Lycan” I reminded him “Who knows what their heats are like, not to mention, she’s possibly half phoenix, what if they don’t have heats like Lycan’s do”
“We should ask father” Koda suggested “He knew Iyarna. Maybe she went into heat, and he can tell us how often”
“As far as we know, she was never marked”
“She must have been” Koda argued “How else would she have fallen pregnant with Maddie?”
“Well, either way, we’re not talking to dad about her” I snapped as I remembered my conversation with him and our grandmother yesterday “He can stay the f*ck out of our relationship, and away from our mate”
Koda frowned at me “What’s that about?” He asked “Did dad say something about our relationship”
“You know how I told you, that we had to talk about something alone?”
“Of course I do, it was like 8 hrs ago”
