Chapter 15 – Mated To The Beta Twins

“I hate this new training schedule, it is always too early and it always lasts too long. How often do you have to practice the same movement? If you know it, there is no use in repeating it.” I hear Stella complain and I take a good look around me.

“Stella, stop complaining. Alpha Lincoln isn’t going to excuse you from training. He is more likely to intensify your training and then you will be complaining for real.” I hear Sarah respond, but Stella seems to be deaf to her advice.

“I understand why Stella doesn’t want to keep repeating those moves, a female should be in a safe room and not out there fighting during an attack.” I say, as I walk towards them. “I believe that a Luna, a Beta female and a Gamma female should stay in a saferoom at the Pack-house, every female that isn’t a Warrior should be in a saferoom.

I don’t understand why it is necessary for a female to know how to fight, they shouldn’t be in the middle of a battle. Females are weak and need us, males, to protect them.” I say, before I walk into the Pack-house. I check the

Archive to find it empty and I slowly make my way up to the Alpha floor to turn in for the night.

As I go through my night routine, I let my mind wander to the announcement Alpha Lincoln made a week ago. On Monday we will each move to the correct floor in the Pack-house and the Sons of Alpha Hank and his leadership will stay with us.

Alpha Lincoln hopes to get a better understanding about what we all still need to learn and make a better decision somewhere down the line. River will move to the Beta floor with us, he has been living in a house, only a few feet away from the Pack-house.

I lay down in my bed and stare up at the ceiling, clearing my mind of everything that has happened since the night Alpha Hank paid us a visit. My eyes slowly close as I drift off to sleep and if I had done that during my run, I might have known trouble was just around the corner.

Meadow’s p.o.v.

It has been four weeks since I took my exam and I still believe that Elder Chelsea chose those three Assholes as my opponents with a reason.

The reason being that it gave me a legitimate reason to kick their asses and to show everyone that they shouldn’t mess with me.

I still run to Uncle Major’s private territory once a day and for the past three days I have seen Arion from a distance. His Lycan is huge, but then again most Lycans are bigger than an Alpha Wolf and Rebel loves his dark gray fur.

We both enjoyed the past three days, just looking at the Lycan that is the only family we have left. The first time Arion showed up, Rebel had lifted her head to look at him. Yesterday and today she didn’t even lift her head, we had smelled his scent and we had just watched him as he was pacing the forest floor.

“It is time, Rebel.” I say and after one more look at Arion, Rebel starts to run back to the Elder

Residence.

Today we will find out if any of us get to join a Renegade Squad and a few of the males are even hoping to become a Squad Captain. Only if you are an exceptional Warrior, are you considered for that promotion and most have been in a Squad for years before they promote to Captain.

I don’t want to become a Captain, at least not yet. I am still busy with my Tech studies and I want to concentrate on that before I consider any kind of promotion.

The auditorium is slowly filling up and I am glad I choose a seat at the back, near an exit. Not only are the students that joined the Renegades in the past three months present, but every Squad Captain is also here with some of their members.

So far there hasn’t been a female Squad Captain and that mostly has to do with the fact that most females don’t want the responsibility. Elder Chelsea walks onto the stage and the entire room goes quiet, everyone wants to hear if there is anyone they thinks is qualified enough to become a Squad Captain.

“Welcome, today we will divide our new students to a Squad. I know there are Squad Captains that have made requests for new members to their Squad and in some cases we will grant those requests, but there are a few that we must decline.

The reason for declining those request has to do with the individual in question, they have shown us that they are not ready to become team players and in our opinion they will be a bad influence on the Squads.” Elder Chelsea says before she calls the names of the students that are granted a place in a Squad.

Next she calls out the names of those students that aren’t ready according to the Elders and to my surprise the three males that give me a hard time are among them.

“One Squad Captain had a pretty unusual request and after careful consideration, the Elders have decided to grant his request. Captain Miles, you want to have an all-female team within your Squad and you have requested a new student to lead that team.

Your reasoning behind forming this team is very solid and we agree that in some cases it will be best if an all-female team is send on an assignment. Team-leader for that team will be Meadow.” Elder Chelsea says and every head in the auditorium turns in my direction.

“Welcome to my Squad, Meadow.” The male in front of me says and for a moment I am too stunned to react. “It will interfere as little with your studies as possible, your teachers will be informed if you are going to miss lessons or tests.”

I look at him to see if I can sense any deception in him, but I can’t find it. “Don’t worry, Captain Miles is being sincere and I will keep an eye on things.” Elder Chelsea says in my head and I sigh in relief, knowing that someone is watching my back.

“Thank you, Captain Miles. I hope I can live up to your expectations.” I say as I shake his hand and I know I will be moving closer to Uncle Major’s territory.

I get introduced to the members of my team and I smile when I realize that I already know most of them, the ones I haven’t met before seem to be nice enough. I think I just need to figure out what Captain Miles wants with this team and then I can start building a good relationship with my team.

The auditorium empties with a lot of noise and someone bumps into me, pretty hard. “Watch where you are going, Bitch” I hear someone whisper next to my ear, but before I can see who it is Captain Miles has him facing the floor.

“I suggest you apologize for bumping into her. Elder Chelsea is right, you are no team player and I can make your life pretty miserable here.” He growls at one of the males that likes to tease me.

Our entire Squad has surrounded us and no one can see what is going on. “If one of us catches you anywhere near Meadow, you will regret applying for a position here.” Captain Miles says, as he lifts the guy off the floor and turns him to face me.

He gets released the moment he apologizes to me and I really hope that I have seen the last of him.
