Chapter 171 – Falling for the Last Lycan Novel

“You wanted to see your father, right? Here is your father. I give him to you.” His voice was very casual and light. Like a summer breeze.

However, Caidan couldn’t say anything about it. He was hyperventilating. He called for his father, but when he saw his eyes, he knew that he was dead.

“Father…? Father…”

Ezra was not the best father, but he was still his father nonetheless and more so, he was pretty good with the twin and Mabel loved him so much.

Yet, what happened to Ezra right now, this was worse than death, this was worse than anything else.

“Khaos… How could you do this to my father?”

Caidan took two steps back when his father approached him and upon seeing that, Ezra stopped walking closer toward him, as if he knew that his son didn’t want to be near him and it hurt Caidan’s heart more.

Did he understand? Was he actually still alive?

“What the meaning of this? I know my father has done something bad, but if you want to kill him then kill him. Why do you have to keep him like this?”

Caiden finally look at Khaos. He fought the urge to look away from the Lycan. His fear told him to be submissive, but his anger made him to fight back.

“You are crazy, Khaos!” Caiden blurted out.

Somehow, Khaos smirked when he heard that. This must be what Zuri felt whenever people called her crazy, especially the people who were close to her. And she had people like that calling her crazy for years.

“Probably I am,” Khaos said.

If that was what people labeled him, then he would wear it with proudness. He might be crazy, but it was fine and somehow it only made him look more feral and lethal with his callousness.

“Do you want to see something else?”

While they were on it, he would prefer them to go to the end of it.

On the other hand, Caiden and Gayle didn’t know how to reply to that, but before they could give a proper response, Khaos already did the same movement where this time there was another figure that appeared in front of them, and it was Bryden.

But then it was not only Bryden, there were a hundred people emerged from the darkness too.

They filled the entire Main Hall, and these figures were the dead warriors that Khaos had killed before when he was enraged upon knowing that Zuri might not survive the completion of the Beauty Blood.

Caiden and Gayle couldn’t understand what was happening. How could this situation turn out like this?

Their eyes widened with fear. Horror crept in their veins upon seeing what was before their eyes. It was hundreds of warriors that had been killed by Khaos when he learned that Zuri might not survive the beauty blood.

“What’s going on, Khaos? How could this be possible? How could you do this?”

Khaos didn’t answer them immediately. Right now, behind him, there were hundreds of warriors. Dead warriors. It almost looked like the Lycan was creating a Walking Dead as his force and this was terrifying.

This was unheard of, this was a taboo.

But then, this was black magic that they were talking here. This kind of magic knew no boundaries between what was right or what was wrong.

Yet, in Gayle’s mind, it was hard to understand how Khaos could pull it off such power. It felt very menacing.

Now they saw the reason why it was so hard to get the beauty blood and why it was called as the ultimate power of the lycan.

“How could you do this?” Caiden gritted his teeth.

“How could I do this?” Khaos tilted his head. “You know how I could do this. You are the one who helped me to do this and for that I am grateful.” He looked at them with resentment and they could feel it, the way Khaos talked, he was smoking them all.

Caidan couldn’t handle it anymore. He finally fell to the ground. He stared at his father and then back to Bryden who was standing next to the king.

The only silver lining here was these dead people look the same. They were under Khaos’ control. The king was in control and it was very scary to see hundreds of warriors had the same dead look in their eyes that showed how, even though they looked alive and moving, they actually had no soul.

“Why can’t you just kill them? Why do you have to do this?” Caidan mumble. He couldn’t understand, He didn’t want to understand why. He was in great denial when the situation turned for the worse.

Khaos patted Bryden’s shoulder and then his figure melted back into the shadow. After that, Khaos approached Ezra, while Caidan couldn’t do anything but knelt down on the ground.

“They are part of me. They belong to the shadow, they belong to the darkness. They are mine.”

Khaos then tapped Ezra on the shoulder and the same thing happened to him. Ezra’s body melted and merge with the shadow too, just like what happened to Bryden.

Caidan watched everything. He stared at Chaos, who was standing in front of him while Gayle took a step back out of instinct. He feared Khaos now. He always feared him before, but at this moment, the fear was so different.

In the past it was respect, but now it was simply a pure horror to stand in front of the Lycan.

“You shouldn’t be here. I told you to not come here, but you still come. You are just like your father. You don’t know how to take an order.”

And with that, Khaos stretched out his hand. The shadow crept on the floor and it touched Caiden, rendered him unable to move and slowly the shadow devoured him.

Caidan couldn’t move. He couldn’t scream. He watched as this dark creature engulfed him and everything was dark.

“Khaos, don’t!!!” Gayle wanted to get Caiden away from the menacing shadow, but everything went too fast, he rushed toward Caiden, but all he could get was empty air.

Caiden had vanished.

Rhett was trying to free Declan. He was his brother and he had been following his order all these years. That was why he couldn’t abandon him.

Even more when he was the leader of the cult.

They needed him to know what the next thing they had to do. The lycan was not in the right mind and they needed to do something about it.

Using his connection and manipulation, Rhett managed to go to the dungeon. The process to sneak in was a little bit tricky, but then the warriors in the Great Palace had been on edge.

They didn’t know what to do and they had been living in fear because the queen kept killing one of them.

For now, it had been twenty six warriors that had been killed miserably and the king didn’t do anything about it.

Their loyalty was swaying, like a leaf as. They didn’t want to say it out loud, but currently they were waiting for someone else to step up and took the control of the situation.

Someone in their right mind, not like the lycan.
