“What the hell!” yells Brax.
Beta Mason looks at Brax and tells him “Sylvia basically told Luna Monica yesterday that she would be telling Eric that Jade was staying here, and that they would be coming to get her. Luna Monica told Sylvia that if anyone showed up that they would consider it an act of war. I will mention to Alpha Andrew that Jade had been threatened via text. Do not delete them, Jade”.
I didn’t delete the messages. I just blocked their numbers. I still have all the texts”, I told Mason.
“Good idea Jade. I will see if Alpha Andrew needs to see them for himself”, Mason tells me, and then he walks off towards the packhouse.
I ask Brax “Is there is a local Wells Fargo Bank here in Chandler? I need to get my money out of my account as my mother, I mean my aunt Sylvia is on my account and I want to get my money out before she can take that from me too”.
“Yes, we have one here, I can take you to it if you need a ride,” Brax told me.
“No, it is still early, and they should be open until noon. I am going to go grab a shower and head into town. I don’t trust her at all and would rest easier if I got my money out of that account. I was saving up to pay for necessities for when I got to college to pay for what the scholarship doesn’t pay, but I may go and see about going to the University of Advancing Technology here in Tempe, as it is close to Shadow Moon. I originally wanted to go to M.I.T and I had been taking all advanced classes and keeping my grades up to be able to get into a good college. I picked M.I.T. because I wanted to get out of Howling Wolf and put as much distance as I could between me and them. I love it here even though I haven’t been here 24 hours yet. I just don’t want her to remember my money and take that from me as well. I worked hard for it and would be furious if she just blew it too. I have a motorcycle, or I can catch a ride with Nicole, especially if Jessica wants to go into town to check Chandler out with us. I also need to get some clothes to exercise in. I have already started losing and I need some more clothes. I appreciate your offering though”. I tell Brax.
“Hey, I have a bike too, just let me know if you want to go riding one night and I can show you around Chandler too. I have a Jeep as well, as you know how much I like to take my top off” Brax tells me, giving me a wink.
I know he is teasing me as we are not mates, Brax is just a flirty kind of guy, but he never goes too far with me, and I appreciate it. Our relationship feels normal, kind of like a male best friend, or a bonus brother, that teases me all the time, but I know he is a good man and would never hurt me as Eric and Calvin did.
“Sure thing, I would be glad for you to show me around Chandler some time. Just not today, I know Nicole and Jessica want me to get back to how I was before life dropped a hammer on me. I will get past this, I am hoping I will be given a second chance mate, but even if I don’t, I am taking this opportunity to take control of my life and enjoy my new stress-free, environment. Thanks for the offer, Brax, we can do that soon” I tell him. I am looking forward to getting to know him better. I head to the packhouse as well, to freshen up.
I go up to my room and take a quick shower after I test Nicole and Jessica to see if they want to go into Chandler with me. They were both excited to go into town. They knew we were going by the bank first and I told them that I would meet them in the hallway in 20 minutes.
The shower feels great, and I wrap up my hair in a towel as I look for something to wear. My jeans are visibly loose now and are sliding on my hips. I don’t have a belt and I won’t be able to keep my pants up without one. I look around and try on a short, long-sleeved, dress that used to fit a little snug, I slip it over my head, and it looks fine, it isn’t tight now and I usually wear some leggings underneath it anyway, so I grabbed some Capri leggings out of my bag and put them on. I look cute in this outfit and wonder why it suddenly fits so well. I haven’t tried it on for 2 months, and they were tight back then. I realize that I started eating better about 40 days ago when Eric approached me, so maybe I have lost weight? I go into my bathroom and see a scale under the bathroom sink and slide it out. I wouldn’t usually weigh myself, but this is kind of odd, so I am willing to check. I weigh myself and I have lost 13 lbs. since Eric approached me. That is a great start, and now I have a true excuse to go shopping today. I blow-dry my hair for 3 minutes to get it almost dry and twist it up into a bun and slip on a pair of flats and run out to the hallway to find Nicole and Jessica. They are already coming out of their room, and I excitedly twirl around in the hallway for them to see the outfit that I have on.
“I knew you were losing weight when I saw you in the bodycon dress! I am so happy for you Jade, you look fantastic.” Jessica calls out to me.
“Oh! We have to do some shopping now Jade! I am so excited for you. You look great in that outfit. I was so proud of you for being able to do both training classes this morning. I am sorry I didn’t do the elite class with you, but I wanted to get with mom and dad this morning about something as I already knew that we would need to go shopping today. Bree was worried about your lack of clothes when she saw you only had a small suitcase and a duffle bag, so we wanted to get you a welcome to the pack present with some shopping today. I hope you don’t mind that Bree is going to come shopping with us too?” Nicole asks me.
