“I don’t know,” I separated my arm from his and he frowned.
“She’s your lover, and I’m sure you invited her to a dinner I’m hosting!” I hissed. I was so tired of this disrespect from him.
“I didn’t invite her and she can come here if she is with a ranked general, maybe she’s a plus one,” He shrugged ” That’s June’s father with them,”

The party interaction was going on well and I was surprised to see Pink, she was wearing a lovely pink gown, and she smiled at me, and I returned it.
“Hello, Luna, good to see you’re alright, and thank you for not reporting us,” She said.
“Yes, it’s alright,” I was going to socialize with others when I remembered something.
“Why do you hang out with Candace and June? They don’t seem to be your type of friends,” I asked. She sighed,
“Well, we grew up together and went to the same school abroad so we are kinda forced,” She shrugged, and I touched her arm.
“Alright, but please be careful with them, and avoid going along with whatever they say or you’ll get in real trouble one of these days,” I advise her, she seems to be in thought but only for a moment.
“Thank you, Luna,” She smiled.
The head chef’s mind linked me to say dinner was ready.
“Good evening, everyone,” I started, all the guests looked at me and I was so nervous to continue, but I was surprised when Alpha Edward came to stand by my side. His arm circled my waist.
Caliana’s POV
I looked at the Alpha’s hand around my waist and then his face, he gave me a tiny smile that warmed my heart. All my nervousness was gone and I continued.
“Thank you, everyone, for coming and I hope you are enjoying yourselves,” They raised their glasses in my direction. After concluding my short speech, I directed them to the dining room. Everything was set up beautifully and the food looked amazing too. Everyone took their seats and I was sitting at the other end, facing my mate.
The dinner went on beautifully and the conversation flowed naturally until the two bimbos spoke. ” Alpha, do you know that we are doing community service?” Started June, everyone looked at her and she smiled. I knew it wouldn’t go as smoothly with these two around.
“That’s … Nice,”he said.
“Indeed, but why?” A lady asked and this time it was Candace who answers ” It’s an order from the Luna,”
“You must have done something,” Sir Matthews chuckled nervously, wanting the topic to come to an end already.” By the way, the food is delicious, Luna Caliana,”
“Our Luna sometimes likes to use her authority even if it’s unnecessary, isn’t that abuse of power?”
“I agree, one can’t go around punishing people just because they can,” June adds.
“Alpha you need to do something,”
“No, he doesn’t. Your reckless drunk driving caused a commotion at school, not to mention three kids were hospitalized. You were supposed to be arrested. Now that I think about it, three months in community service is not enough,”
The two were now silent, glaring at me but I didn’t waver
“Alpha, you won’t let her do this, right?”
Alpha Edward rolled his eyes ” She’s your Luna and if she thinks you deserve it. You will be punished and you shall apologize to these families,” He declared and I smiled in victory.
Conversations returned to normal now and some were getting drunk. I was receiving death glares from June and Candace but I smirked every time. Edward sided with me, and I was pleased.
After dinner, we bid everyone goodnight and watched them leave. Marcus and Marcos went to bed, which left me with the Alpha.
We stood in the foyer a little bit awkward.
“Great job with the dinner,” He said. I gave him a tiny smile but inside I was ecstatic. This is the second time he’s complimenting me on my work.
“Thank you for the support,” I told him. He nodded. We stood there a while longer, neither of us wanted to leave.
I slowly walked to the stairs. I don’t know what I wanted him to say but it would be nice if he stopped me.
“I want to be with you tonight!” My hand flew to cover my mouth. I didn’t turn around to face him, is he smirking right now? Does he think I’m an idiot? Will he mock me? Questions ran through my head.
“I knew that, I wanted you to confess,” he had an arrogant tone and I knew it was a poor idea to say something. I groaned and made my way upstairs but the hair on my neck stood up and I knew that once I turned, I’d bump into him.
“Why are you leaving,” He asked in a sexy voice.
“I won’t be mocked by you, at least not tonight, Alpha,” I retorted. He stayed quiet and I felt him kiss me behind my ear

I rolled my eyes and started to walk upstairs but he grabbed my arm and spun me to him and crashed his lips on mine.
