Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 22 – Mated to Big Brother-in-law

“From what I’ve heard, you participated in the last event. How was your experience?” Sara’s father asked.

When I heard his inquiry, I immediately stopped eating. After a brief peek in my direction, Sara cleared her throat.

“Dad, it was great. She did well in that competition.”

“Yeah, yeah. She won the competition, didn’t she?” Sara’s mother asked Sara.

I shook my head sadly. “No, Auntie. I didn’t.”

“It’s okay. Better luck next time. Sara always talks about you. You are a top scorer. There is a great future ahead for you.” Sara’s father said.

I stared at Sara’s father with a small smile. He was a businessman. He valued this type of event a lot.

If I wanted, I could tell Sara to talk about me to her father to get me a job. In fact, Sara proposed to me about it two months ago.

But I declined it. I did not want to take any opportunity on behalf of our friendship. I was looking for a job based on my skills.

“Thank you, Uncle.”

I left Sara’s house after breakfast. She instructed her driver to drop me off at my home.

On the way, I was thinking about last night. I was upset with myself.

“I should not have drunk last night.”

–

The next day,

I arrived at the university at an early hour. The way people looked at me today was different from how they looked at me the day before.

It looked like the news about how I talked to Bruce yesterday had spread throughout the whole university.

Since my behavior was rude to him, others believed that I did not make the video to get Bruce back. Some of them even doubted that Luisa was a liar.

It was a relief to know that the tag on my head would be removed soon. Exactly like everyone else, I would live a normal life.

What I needed to do was get a job that I could do part-time and keep myself active in between my studies and my work duties.

I noticed Nolan, who approached me with a smile.

“I’m happy for you and Sara.” I expressed my happiness.

Nolan nodded at me. “Me too,” he replied with a lower tone.

After giving him a thoughtful look, I said,

“Nolan, let me request one thing from you. Always cherish your mate. She is someone the Moon Goddess created specifically for you. You both are part and parcel of your lives. Even though anyone wants to leave, your mate will always feel for you and your suffering till the very end.”

Nolan stared at me for some time, then eventually gave me a gentle nod.

“I promise you. I will always cherish Sara.”

Just as I was about to smile at him, Sara came up behind me and gave me a hug.

“Thank you so much. I love you,” she said to me.

“I thought you were mine,” Nolan said to Sara in a joking tone.

“Yeah, but I love her too,” Sara replied.

Her adorable behavior caused Nolan and me to chuckle. She looked more beautiful after finding her mate.

We were all busy talking.

At that moment, we heard a voice calling me from behind.

“Sophia Berge?”

I turned around and saw a boy.

“Professor Wilson is calling you in his office right now,” he said and left.

“Why did he call me?” I muttered in a worried tone.

“Everything will be okay,” Nolan assured me.

“Sophia, it’s possible that he found evidence against Luisa, which is the reason he is calling you,” Sara said.

After giving it some thought, I came to the conclusion that it could be the fact. That might be the reason behind it.

If it were true, then it would be great news for me. I would get back my project.

I glanced at my friends, and they nodded at me. I made my way to Professor Wilson’s office with a fear in my heart.

My mind was suddenly filled with new suspicions, and they came one after the other.

“What if he restricts me for what happened in the event?’

I knocked on the door. Even though I was outside of the office, I couldn’t help but feel anxious. Upon hearing his voice, I entered his office.

He raised his head from a file and looked at me with a simple smile.

I was feeling dumbfounded by his smile.

What caused him to smile?

Had Professor Wilson become so evil that he was smiling after restricting me from this university?

“I called you for good news.”

I experienced a slight sense of ease. Sara’s assumption might be true. They found the proof against Luisa.

But the following sentence that he spoke shook me.

“We got a call from the Morrison Group.”

When I heard him, I gulped.

“Morrison Group?”

It was Bryan’s company!

“Yeah. They called you for an interview, Sophia.”

I was stunned. “W-What?”

Why did that company want to interview me?

“Professor, I can’t understand what you are trying to say.”

He took off his glasses and set them down on the desk in front of him. He looked relieved when he started to speak,

“You are very fortunate that you are still enrolled in this university. In that event, Dean wanted to restrict you. But Alpha Bryan stopped him. He saved you from Dean throwing you out of this university. And now his company is interested in hiring you.”

I was taken aback.

Did Bryan help me? Why did he do that? Didn’t he hate me?

I was confused with everything.

“You requested me to see a job for you. Somehow, the Morrison group learned about it, and as a result, the manager requested your CV and instructed me to send you to the company for an interview.”

I felt relieved when I heard about their manager. The manager might have seen the CV. Maybe I could get a job there.

Joining Morrison Group was a dream for every student of our university. It was hard to get a job there.

Everyone put in a lot of effort over the course of several months in order to increase their chances of getting an internship there.
