Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 22 – The Eclipsed Life of Luna Mischa

It was also documented in Anthony’s file exactly the same where he was for each day, so it was plain for all to see who he tended to and who he did not. There was no escaping it. Kendrick had mind-linked to herself each day after Anthony had left her alone.

He and the Alpha Unit all knew she’d been abandoned to her heat. It had been the three of them organizing the drugs to be sent to her and clearing the packhouse of all males including themselves, to see that door open safely each day.

Her personal Luna Diary often just sat on her desk out in the open. It looked exactly like the other Pack Luna’s Diary’s something she’d always kept, and that anyone could go and access and read from the pack

Library. Though her personal ones were neatly led up now in her new suite, it had an office up there with an inbuilt book case.

But it went completely unnoticed by all because it was a normal thing for them to all see. She’d been doing this for 22 years, writing in a black A4-sized diary. It was simple and plain looking, all black with gold letting on the front and down the spine that just stated the words Diary and then the year was next to it.

No one questioned her about it, not even Christy, because she’d gone through the other ones before she’d gotten here and become Anthony’s second Mate, part of her Luna training to see how to document things.

Mischa had even tried to get Christy to document along the same lines. The girl had stared at her and stated, “You’re doing it, so why do I need to?” And although Mischa had explained to her, it was a good habit to get into and that at times Anthony would peruse them himself to see how the Luna’s duties were going.

Christy hadn’t cared; she had tossed her a blue pen and stated just document what I do in a different color, so he can see the difference. There is no need for us both to write in it. He’ll know by that everything I do, and you don’t do. Mischa had just nodded, though she’d understood that meant Christy was going to try and claim the color that had the most written in it.

She’d put her name in black pen and signed it, then turned it to Christy and stated sign in the color of the pen you’ve chosen for me to document your duties in. Played it off uncaringly, Christy had stared at her as if she wasn’t going too only to have Anthony walk into the room at the time and ask what was going on.

She’d told him before Christy could get a word out, he’d smiled, “That’s a good idea. I can see that the work is being shared equally after a few months or if more needs to go to another.” He’d even held that blue pen out to Christy himself.

Then he’d signed it himself, Alpha Anthony, as if it had his stamp of approval on it. Over the past two years, it was just Mischa documenting in those books, and she didn’t lie about anything. Her duties were all documented in black pen, Christy’s were all in blue pen, it was mostly filled with Luna Lessons, and she used a green pen to document their joint duties.

They were mostly filled with black ink. Christy had told Anthony she needed more study on Luna Lessons when he’d looked at it after six months. Then she’d apologized tearfully that she was sorry she was a slow learner, but she was trying her best.

She was just a warrior’s daughter and had never had any aspiring thoughts of becoming a Luna, so she’d never studied anything that would help her to be Luna. That she was only new to the role and Mischa had been doing it for decades.

He’d nodded and smiled, told her he wasn’t accusing her of anything lacking, just looking to see where she was at, was all. That he knew it took time to learn a year or more, that it wasn’t a concern to him, he was just checking her progress

That Mischa was more than capable of handling the entire pack if he wasn’t there in it, and Mischa would be the Luna in charge, until Christy had finished all her learnings, and she could take as long as she liked to learn everything properly. That had ticked Christy off. Mischa had seen the way Anthony had smiled at herself and the anger on Christy’s face at his recognition and stating it would be Mischa in charge and not Christy.

It was going to take many years at the rate Christy ducked, learning everything that was needed of her.

She looked as though she was attentive and learning when Anthony or his unit were around, knew enough to just get it past them and look as though she took it all in.

Had learned what she thought was necessary to be seen as filling Luna Duties and nothing more, all the things that she knew Anthony, his unit and the Gamma would need to see her attending to in order to get it past them.

She’d left it alone, it would be outed at some point, the day Mischa wasn’t there and shit it the fan and

Christy couldn’t do something she was supposed to be able to do and not only would the unit look at her questioningly, Anthony would ask her why she didn’t know what to do. Mischa was just sitting back waiting for that day.

She would not do anything that was seen as mean or cruel, did absolutely nothing to sabotage that she-wolf her downfall would come of her own accord in due time. They had very long lives. Christy could do a Luna’s Blessing for the newborn pups, use her Luna’s Calm, set up a mating ball from the selecting of packs to attend, from their pack alliance requirements, to housing them correctly when they came to visit. Do the meet and greet alongside her and Anthony and portray herself as a good Luna in the company of others.

But that was pretty much it. The major events duties to be seen by everyone she could handle, but the day to day running of the pack, she couldn’t do it, had no patience for dealing with the teen’s getting in trouble, or sitting and listening to them talk about what it was they wanted for themselves. Christy wasn’t interested in helping anyone but herself, so listening to others’ problems wasn’t something she wanted to do.

She certainly didn’t want to sit with pack families that had difficulties if there were any, and some did have them because they were blended families. Second chance mates often saw stepchildren having to come together and live under the one roof.

Those having come from other packs and suddenly having a new stepmother and siblings or stepfather, and siblings didn’t always go down so well. Some just couldn’t get along, and this was the Luna’s duty to help sort out at times.

Mischa used this to learn what was going to happen in the future with her and Christy’s children. She could
