“Kiilian! Give me my phone!” I yelled, trying to grab it, but he shifted, as if evading me effortlessly.
Once he was done, he cut the call and handed the phone back to me.
“What was that?!” I snapped.
He looked at me as if I was being unreasonable. “I told you to break up with him. You didn’t. I’m just helping you easier. Now he knows you’re off-limits.”
“You’re insane!”
He grabbed my wrist and dragged me toward his car.
You go. So do
“Killian! What is it with you and forcing me to do things I don’t want to do?! Leave me the heck alone! Go deal with your wife!”
He didn’t say anything. Just pushed me into the car, shut the door, and started the engine.
His phone rang
Cynthia
He cut the call
She called again.
He cut it again.
On the third ring, I snatched the phone.
“Liana, drop it,” Killian ordered, eyes focused on the road.
“No.”
“Drop the fucking phone, Liana! Fucking drop it!”
I pressed answer.
“KILLIAN! WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY A DIVORCE?! HUH? YOU KNOW I’M PREGNA-“
Killian snatched the phone from my hand and ended the call. His jaw
My heart was racing. clenched as he tossed it into the back seat.
Divorce?
Pregnant?
Cynthia was pregnant?
And he was divorcing her?
I couldn’t speak. My mouth opened, but nothing came out.
He parked the car in front of his company building.
I sat there, staring at the dashboard, trying to find the words.
“You… she’s pregnant, Killian,” I said finally, my voice was quite small. “And you’re here dragging me around like some fucking prize.”
“Liana-“
“No! We’re talking about this.”
He sighed and reached for the door handle.
“You don’t want to talk about it?” I snapped. “Well, too bad. We’re talking. Now.”
“Liana-“
“She’s your wife. She’s carrying your child. And instead of being with her, you’re stalking me. You’re controlling my life. You’re calling my boyfriend. You’re getting me fired. You’re showing up at my doorstep like a damn ghost. What the hell is wrong with you?!”
His jaw tightened
“Killian, answer me!”
He didn’t. He opened the door.
I reached across and grabbed his arm. “I said answer me!”
He yanked his arm free. “Why can’t you just leave it alone?!”
“Because it makes no damn sense!” I shouted “You’re trying to ruin my life while ignoring the one you’re supposed to be building!”
“I never wanted that life!”
“Then why get her pregnant?!”
“I didn’t!”
I stared at him.
His chest was rising and falling like he’d been holding everything in.
“You want to know?!” he yelled. “Fine. Yes. She’s pregnant. Yes, she’s supposed to be my wife. Yes, I’m divorcing her.”
I blinked, breath caught.
“Because the baby she’s carrying doesn’t belong to me!!”
LIANA’S POV
I was still in shock. Still trying to process what Killian had just said.
Even as he tossed his keys to the valet and told me to follow him into the building, I was still in a complete daze.
We got to his office. He swiped his card, the doors opened, and he stepped inside while I followed, but my mind was still stuck in the car.
