“NO!”
“May I ask what my punishment is?” Father looks at me like I have two heads, when I asked him that. Then there is a knock on the door. I can smell mom. “Come in dear.”
Mom comes into the office and gives my father a kiss. I am just sitting there, waiting for whatever he decides to give me as punishment, for accepting
Jessie’s rejection, ignoring Jessie’s mind link, telling on her, and who knows what other offences he will tack on. “What’s going on dear?” mom asked Father, “Care to tell your mother what you told me Keska?” Father says. “Not really.”
“Why?”
“Because you will believe whatever Jessie tells you anyways so why should I bother?” I say to them both. “Just give me whatever punishment you deem fit for me ignoring her and send me on my way so that I can get it done.” I say. “Keska,
Drake what is going on?”
“Sorry mom, but you need to talk to father and Jessie, I just came here to get whatever punishment Father deem fit for me, because I ignored Jessie, and she told on me.”
“There is more to it than that Keska.” Father says, “I told you; you need to ask
Jessie, I can’t speak for her, nor would I want to for fear of getting something wrong” I say. “You are being very disrespectful right now, Keska, your father would have every right to punish you for that disrespect alone.” Mom states.
DRAKE: “Yes mom.” she says and sits silently. I am just about at my whit’s end with her. “Why won’t you tell your mother what you told me?”
“Because you both will make me out to be a tattle tale and I’m not, so it’s just best that you get the story from Jessie, then give me my punishment.” She states like it happens all the time. “Jessie come to my office please.”
“Yes daddy.” There is a knock on my door a couple minutes later. “Come.”
“You wanted to see me daddy?” (KESKA: I open a link to James. “Are you busy?”
“Not really, why?”
“Just listen, I will keep the link open.” Then I opened one to Mackie, “Just listen.”, and then one to Nana “Just listen.”) “What happened a month ago?” I asked Jessie. “I don’t know what you’re asking about, lots of stuff happened a month ago.” (JAMES: Shit, I can’t save her this time it’s too late to warn her.) “Think Jessie, it was around the time of the whole bulling issue.”
“Nothing but that.” She states. “So, you maybe didn’t reject your sister?” I asked her and watched her face. “Umm maybe, I don’t remember, what’s that got to do with her ignoring me.”
“Do you remember her accepting it.”
“OH, yeah that kind of hurt, come to think of it.”
“You put the pieces together Jessie, and then tell me why you think Keska ignored you.”
CARLA:** “YOU WHAT? JESSIE HOW COULD YOU!”** “Mimi did it.” She says. “You are not Amanda! Why would you accept it, Keska?”
“Why wouldn’t I, I’m just supposed to accept the pain of rejection every time Jessie decides to get a bug up her butt and that she doesn’t want to be my sister anymore and makes a public announcement of it. No thank you.”
“What do mean every time?”
“It happens at least 3-4 times a school year mom. I just got tired of it, so I finally accepted it and moved on, and if she hadn’t come crying to father about “me ignoring her” she used finger quotes nobody would be the wiser of it, except for James, Nana, Wyatt, Mackie, and her, maybe her two cronies. But all this right here right now (she uses her hands in a circler motion palms down.) is all on Jessie, not me.” **”You little bitch! I will get you for this!”** Jessie yells at Keska and makes a lung towards her before anyone can react to stop her.
Shit now I know what I felt a month ago, it was Jessie and Keska.
KESKA: I knew that what I said would provoke Jessie, did I do it on purpose? Not really, it just had to be said, and I knew she would come at me, and I was ready for her, I jumped behind the chair in order to give myself some space to defend myself. Aikido is a defensive form not an offensive form. So, when she came at me, I just made her keep going right past me using her own momentum, and she landed on her stomach with her face on the floor. You could tell she was pissed, and she was going to come at me again.
Until Father roared using his Alpha voice. “ENOUGH!” Oh, shit “sorry everyone.”
I apologized. I closed the links that I had held open. Even though Father used his alpha tone I stayed on my guard; I wasn’t going to take any chances with Jessie.
DRAKE: “Sit, both of you!” Jessie moves to sit in the chair in front of my desk. “Keska!”
“Sorry Father I would rather stand;
I mean no disrespect in denying your request, but I would rather say on my guard, thank you.” She tells me rather flatly, bowing her head and bearing her neck to me. “Make her sit daddy.”
Jessie whines at me. “Enough! Jessie! Keska you will sit!” Keska takes the chair closest to the garden side window and pulls it about 6 inches away from Jessie’s chair and turns it slightly to watch Jessie better, rather than look at me.
“Now tell me what happened a month ago Jessie.”
