“I didn’t mean literally, I meant … Forget it, Kid,” Garret gave up.
“What does literally mean?”
He exhales as he starts to explain the word to her.
The Alpha was looking at me with a lustful gaze but I ignored him and ate my food and like the stupid domineering man he was, he approached me, telling me that I can’t wear my outfit because men will stare at me! Of course, I didn’t agree to change so he locked me in his office.
“I have work too,” I growled at him.
“I won’t let you go out dressed like that,” He retorted, not taking his eyes off his laptop.
“Why? Because I look too sexy?” I smirked, he lifted his eyes and trailed my body.
“You’ll confuse the men and women will be envious, what if they try to harm you,”
“I was going to the office!”
“Good, I asked your assistance to bring you all you need here,” He smirked, I gasped and threw myself on the sofa, glaring at him with my might but he didn’t budge. While we waited for my assistant, he spoke
“I didn’t sleep with her,” His voice was soft. I knew that he didn’t, he kicked her out immediately after I left them.
“I don’t care,” I said quietly and he nodded. Merabi walked in after a knock and handed me my laptop and the files we were working on today.
She stuck around but I saw how nervous she was so I asked her to go to our office and she was only happy to do so.
I worked in the Alpha’s office the whole day, they even set up a nice area for me. The office was enormous and made of glass.
‘I need an office like this,’ I thought to myself as I looked down at the amazing view. We were on the top floor.
“Um, Alpha, I’m done… I’ll go now,” I told him.
“Don’t leave, I want you to review this for me,” He handed me a file. I sighed and took it, going back to my mini lovely space in his office. I made changes to it where necessary and I finished, he kept asking me to do simple tasks just so that I don’t leave. gods!
By the time we left the office, it was past seven and we were the only people there. We found Ron in the parking spot and the Alpha rode with us as he was ‘ lazy to drive’
“Can we stop somewhere, I need hot cocoa,” I told Ron, and he stopped at a place where we get the best cocoa. He got two but the Alpha refused so I drank it. We soon reached home.
“Thank you for your help today,”
“You’re Welcome, Alpha,” I chirped, mocking that slut’s voice who came as a present last night, Edward chuckled
“Stop,” He was repressing his laughter and it felt good being like this with him.
“Good night,” I mimicked her voice again and stuck out my breast.
He smiled at me genuinely and whispered ” Good night, Meyers,”
I sighed when I reached the room, I didn’t even realize I was smiling until I saw my reflection in the mirror. I took off my clothes and prepared a bubble bath, I closed my eyes and relaxed.
Caliana’s POV
The rest of the days I did my duty but my wolf was urging me to go for a run, however, I didn’t know what to do. I’ve been avoiding going for a run to my favorite spot because Alpha Henderson will be there.
He somehow knew my schedule and it creeped me out however, he mentioned Alpha Edward having a mate so I made it my mission to learn about that. I didn’t know he had one before me.
Today during my visit to the hospital, a pack member complimented me about the work I do and said I’m far much better than the previous Luna, however when I asked the young woman to tell me more, she panicked and evaded the question. After a while, I gave up. I’ve been visiting the pack house these days in hopes I’d see the girl who mentioned Alpha Edward’s former Luna but I didn’t. She must not be staying in the pack house, I tried to ask Juanita or Aubrey about the former Luna but they didn’t say anything, it’s like they were ordered not to and my curiosity just grew. Why is she such a mystery, heck I don’t even know her name?
‘Maybe she did something really bad and you should let it go,’ Liana suggested.
‘As if you don’t know me, curiosity has already been planted in my tiny brain and I want to know, aren’t you a bit curious?’ I asked her.
‘I am but these people behave as if asking about her is taboo,’
I’m curious to know what she looked like, her personality, just anything. The woman who broke his heart, he did mention once that women only want to take advantage and I’m sure he meant his first Luna.
I was waiting for Love in the driveway as I always do, deep in my thoughts when the hairs on my body suddenly stood up and I was alerted by Liana that we were being watched by our mate. I calmed myself and avoided looking at him. The car soon arrived and Love jumped out of the car, running to me. We hugged each other and I took her bag.
“Any cookies for me?”
“Always,” I said, taking her to the garden where our table was arranged. She beamed and immediately grabbed one cookie to eat as she told me about her day.
“Love,” I got her attention, “I’ve been wanting to ask you something,”
“What is it?”
“Does your daddy talk about your mommy?” The little girl was visibly caught off guard by my question, she knitted her brows and frowned.
“She left when I was a baby,” she answered. What did she mean by left? Is she dead, banished? Did she abandon them? Love didn’t seem too sad about it, but maybe it was because she didn’t even know her.
“Do you have a picture of her?” I asked and her eyes lit up before looking around for anyone.
“Yes but you can’t tell Dad,”
“Why?”
“He’s just always so glum when I asked about it before and so we don’t talk or keep her pictures,” she said, drinking her milk.
“And how did you get her picture if your daddy didn’t have any?” I was gentle in my tone, trying to act not too concerned and she emulated my energy.
“It was given to me by Gran Gran,” she said. From what I know, the brother’s mother died four years ago, does she mean her mother’s parents before I can ask again, she answered.
“She doesn’t come here anymore, I think she wanted to get me and dad got so mad,” she shrugged her shoulders. I forced a smile on my lips and urged her to drink more milk.
“I’m not sad though,” she continued.
