Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 28 – The Alpha She Does Not Care (Wynta & Jared) Novel

Only one had tried to convince him she was his Mate, and he’d looked right at her and then held up that band on his wrist and stated, “When this mating bond band glows, and I scent you out, then I will believe it.’ She’d glared at him and stalked off away from him. He would not be coerced and had that pack rule to abide by.

Though he’d already come to the conclusion that if one of his brothers got the seat he’d look for a she-wolf to take as a Chosen Mate, he didn’t particularly like having a constant string of she-wolves coming and going from his bed.

Most wolves got over that by the time they were his age and were ready to settle down. Most just stopped f*****g around at about 40 or 50 years old, they were actually maternal creatures by heart, and craved to have a Mate that would make them feel whole. He knew that was what his father was doing when he tried to make him date someone.

Seeing him feel settled and happy, but being an Alpha wolf and dating the same she-wolf or even human for years, that she-wolf or human was going to get the impression she was going to be his wife or Chosen Mate at some point.

Then if he did happen to come across his Goddess-Gifted when in a long-term relationship with another, that could well see things get ugly between his lover and his Goddess-Gifted, so no, he wouldn’t be doing something like that. It was just plain stupid in his eyes.

Wynta

She had been left alone in that hospital room for many hours, and she had thought Jared and his Beta had left, that she was going to be able to stay in this hospital until her discharge in two days’ time. The other patients in the room were taken off to attend some medical thing their doctor wanted, and she was all alone in her room.

It was quiet for the first time ever in here during visiting hours, Kim had come in and smiled at her, telling her she was going to stop the fluids, and her antibiotics were going to be switched to oral as soon as that was done, but she’d not remove the cannula.

Chuckled softly and stated, “I learned the hard way not to remove the patient’s cannula until those drugs are all switched to oral on the chart. Sometimes the doctor says one thing but then doesn’t chart it or changes his mind and never tells us.”

She’d gone off to attend to something else, and not long later Dr Patel had come to her bedside and there was another man with him also in a doctor’s coat, and she’d smelled

wolfen on him even as Dr Patel introduced him as Dr Gordon Whitiker.

“I’m going to push a final dose of IV antibiotics, Wynta,” he stated as he attached a syringe to the cannula on the back of her hand. “A slow push over a few minutes is all. We’ll chat while I do so. A bedside hand over, so to speak.” He started to push that clear liquid into her slowly.” Dr Whitiker is from your insurance company, and he has a team here, to transport you to Cedar Rapid Hospital. I’ve checked all the paperwork it’s all in order.” He smiled at her.

She frowned right at him, but not because of the words he was speaking, but because she was starting to feel fuzzy around the edges and was suddenly tired. By the time she realized what was going on, she knew it was already too late, whatever was in that syringe wasn’t an antibiotic, it was a sedative of some kind. She couldn’t fight it and was pulled under and into unconsciousness very quickly.

Wynta woke up gradually and the room slowly came into focus around her. She was thirsty and as she looked about really coming back from the drug she’d been given, she found herself in a single room and five minutes after that she was completely awake in the semi-darkened room. She knew she was inside a pack.

She could feel that it was pack territory even though her feet weren’t touching the ground. Pack territory felt completely different to rogue territory and, despite her diminished wolfen senses, she could smell wolves all around her.

This particular sensation reminded her of being inside her home pack, and that, along with all that had happened to her during the day, she knew this was the Cedar Rapid Pack and their hospital. She scrubbed a hand over her face. Why was it Alpha wolves always had to have what they wanted? Regardless of what others wanted,

Being treated like this was why she had left her home pack in the first place, because her first lover and then mate; rejected as he was and by herself. He had expected her to just give him everything of herself, including f*****g his Beta. Then even after the rejection was issued and accepted, he’d still expected her to just stay in that pack and wait for him.

To let him go off to Alpha College for a full year, where she knew he was going to go and have s*x with any and all Alpha females that were willing to let him while there. For a whole year, only for him to come home after he’d sewn his wild oats and wait to see if he was going to change his mind and claim her after all.

He’d not once considered her feelings, only what he wanted for himself, that ‘We’ll discuss it when I come home in a year. The way he’d stated it, was like he just expected her to bow down and wait for him to choose her, if he wanted to at all. To have her sit around and pine away for him forever, and turn a blind eye to all the she-wolves he bedded until he decided if he wanted her later in life.

He thought that her being wolf-less meant that she was weak, and would be desperate to have him claim her, so she’d hang about and do whatever he told her to, in order to gain his attention or favor, so he would claim her and make her the Luna to that pack.

But she’d never considered herself to be a weak-willed she-wolf. Yes, she’d been sucked in by his charm and patience, all the sweet talk until she’d found herself in his bed, but that had still taken a few months for him to get. Maybe he was so persistent with her because even before they both knew what they were to each other, their bodies knew something they did not.

She’d liked being kissed by him, liked being touched by him and the s*x had been good with him as well. But he’d turned out to be nothing like she’d thought he was. Just an Alpha that wanted something he couldn’t just have in an instant, he’d found her to be a challenge, when she didn’t just bend over when he told her to like the other she-wolves she’d seen in the previous two years of going to school with him.

He’d chased her and been persistent, charming and told everyone they were even dating, not something he’d done before with other she-wolfs in the pack. Though in the end, it meant nothing. He’d played her like he did all the others, she had likely set off that Alpha mentality of needing to assert his dominance over her was all.

Though that night that had followed the rejection of her Alpha Mate, she had absently wondered as she’d lain in that hospital bed what the pack would have made of her, as the Future Luna. Many of the pack’s wolves had tried to bully her. She’d just not reacted to it in anyway, and they’d stopped, not getting the kick out of it they thought they would.

Would they have apologized to her for their behavior or would they simply plead ignorance to all they’d done? Would Nolan have gone off and punished them for their behavior if he’d accepted her that night?

Though no one inside that pack knew about what she was supposed to be to them, and she’d left two days after Nolan had gone off to Alpha College. She had said good riddance pretty much and walked away uncaring mostly. She’d not been weak, just resigned to the fact that she was wolf-less and accepted it.

She’d not left anything behind to drag her back. There was no family there, some of the teens her age had been nice to her, but she didn’t consider them good friends. It was more like polite pack members was all.

She sighed at her thought process and knew why she was taking a trip down memory lane, because she was once again inside a pack, inside the pack hospital. Which was the last place she had been in when inside her home pack, and it triggered her memories of that place. That was all and nothing more.
