“What about the herbs?” Cane asked. His emotions dripped into his voice. He rested his head on the backrest of his chair, his eyes tightly shut.
There were just the two of them inside the bedroom and Cane had ordered them not to be disturbed.
Grace tried to find the right words to say, but then there was nothing she could find to make the situation a little bit better for the alpha. He was the last person in his bloodline and if he couldn’t produce an heir, it meant the bloodline would die with him.
The burden of knowing that was something that weighed Cane down and mortified him more than anything. The alpha’s blood line from the Howling Wolf pack would die with him, as the last alpha.
“I will try to concoct something for you.” Grace knew that she was offering an empty promise, so did the alpha.
“How about the chances?” Cane opened his eyes and he stared straight into Grace’s eyes. “Tell me the truth.”
“It is close to impossible,” Grace replied and she felt sorry for him. She lowered her head and then a crazy thing crossed her mind. “But alpha, if the herbs can’t help, what about with magic? Such as a magic power?”
Magic power and healing power were two different things, probably there was still hope if they could find a great sorcerer.
Cane looked at Grace. “Do you really think it can help?”
“We need to try.” Grace couldn’t give him a firm answer, but at the very least, they didn’t meet the dead end. “It will be great if we can get the help of a divine power.”
“A divine power only belongs to Serafim,” Cane stated in a matter of fact.
A Serafim lived in a different continent, in a holy kingdom, which not anyone could enter. The possibility of him meeting with her would be close to none.
“Find a sorcerer that can help with this matter.” Cane felt humiliated, even when he talked to Grace, one of his trusted people. He felt his ego and pride was hurt so bad.
This humiliation was not the last thing that alpha Gerald had left him with. Not to mention now he raised his daughter in her rank to be his luna. The nefarious alpha would roll in his grave, laughing.

“Arrgghhh!” Aria was screaming furiously in her room, she was furious beyond words when she knew what transpired in the last meeting today.
She thought the worst thing that could possibly happen was; they would lose their control over the Blue Moon pack, but then she learned something even more horrible.
“What do you mean that slave will be the luna of the pack!?” Aria freaked out when she heard this from Dalia. Bian was standing not too far from them. She was silent, afraid to see how Aria was smashing things around.
“That’s what they said… the alpha managed to keep the Blue Moon pack under his control, but it is under the pretext that he will take the former alpha’s daughter as his luna.” Dalia explained what she had heard.
“There is no way the alpha will do that!” Aria was hyperventilating. She threw another flower vase, which shattered into a hundred pieces when it collided against the wall. “There is no way Cane will do something like that!”
Aria threw things, until there was nothing that she could throw and now her room was a mess.
Meanwhile, Bian was standing silently at the corner and Dalia stood beside her. She knew that her friend was so triggered, since she would tremble in fear at the smallest act of violence and Aria did exactly what she feared.
“What else?! What else did you hear?!” Aria directed her angry eyes at Dalia and Bian. Blood dripped from her hand because the sharp shards grazed her skin, but the wounds healed immediately.
“I- I heard…” Dalia looked complicated when she wanted to say this, she knew it would throw Aria over the top.
“WHAT!?”
“I heard the alpha has marked her…” Dalia stuttered and just as she thought, Aria was furious beyond words. She stormed out of the room, her eyes were red because of how angry and hurt she was.
How could Cane betray them by taking Iris to his side?!
However, when Aria went to the alpha’s chamber, her presence was not granted entrance.
“What? Do you know who I am?!” She was so furious, she could barely contain her anger.
“This is the alpha’s direct order, I can’t let you go inside,” one of the guards said. He knew that Aria was an important person for the alpha, but the order was so clear and she knew there was nothing she could do to force her way in. “There is someone there?”
“Yes.”
Aria was seeing red now. “Who? The slave?!”
The guards knew who Aria meant by the slave, it must be Iris. “No. It is the healer, Grace.”
Aria slightly calmed down when she heard it was just Grace, anyone was better than that slave, but then it was so rare for Cane to call for Grace. “Why is she there?”
“We don’t know about that.”
Of course, they wouldn’t know if it was related to the alpha’s well being, as his health would be top secret. Mere guards like them wouldn’t be privileged enough to know something so important.
After that, Aria went away. She headed toward the slave quarters.

Iris was having trouble falling asleep after the whole ordeal that she had to go through this morning and afternoon.
“Is it true?” Hanna looked at Iris, as her eyes fixed on her neck, but she could barely see her mark because her curly hair covered it. “Can I see it?”
She heard all those rumors about Alpha Cane taking her as his chosen mate and that he had marked her a week prior to this.
Hanna could imagine when that happened. It must be when the alpha had taken Iris for days and kept her with him. But, why did he mark her? Didn’t he hate her? Did he forget that Iris was Alpha Gerald’s daughter? The same alpha that had forced them into slavery?
Slowly, Iris pushed her hair away and showed Hanna her neck, so she could see the mark on it.
“Heavens!” Hanna gasped, she covered her mouth when she saw the mark. Were all of those rumors true? Iris would be the luna of the pack, so they could keep their control over the Blue Moon pack?
