“Any interesting conversation?”
“She was just telling me how happy she is,” He lied all while keeping his eyes on me.
Alpha Edward was trembling, I sensed hostility between the two of them but are trying to keep it civil.
“We are happy indeed,”
“Then why are you not marking her? If she was mine she -“
“Well, she’s not yours, Michael… We have a business to discuss inside. I’ll find you in my office with my brother,”
Alpha Michael gave me a charming smile that made me flush.
“I’ll see you around, Luna Caliana,” The way he said it made it feel so wrong as if trying to anger the man next to me.
As soon as Alpha Michael left, Alpha Edward pulled me to him roughly, we were so close that I could feel his hot breath tickle my skin, and all I wanted was to crash my lips against his, my eyes abode on his full lips and he jerked me. I winced in pain when his elongated claws deep into my skin, drawing blood
“Why were you talking to that bastard?!” He growled in my face.
“You… you’re hurting me,” I squeaked. His expression suddenly turned to horror and he pushed me, I hit my leg against the concrete bench and I winced.
“Fuck,” He muttered, rushing to me but I held my hand up, telling him not to come closer. He halted, watching me with quirky interests. I lifted my dress to check my injury, and it looks like I twisted my ankle, it hurt.
I hissed and the next moment, Alpha Edward appeared in front of me, caressing it. As he continued to touch me, the pain I was feeling dissipated and was now replaced with a nice electric sensation. He unexpectedly carried me bridal style. I gazed up to see his hard features and I was tempted to trail a finger on his perfect jawline.
I was too busy dreaming to even realize we had reached my room, he threw me on the bed and exited the room.
“Bastard,” I murmured.
Edward’s POV
I was doing my best not to kill that idiot Michael, what the fuck was he doing talking to the Meyers girl? My blood boiled when I saw him touch her, I wanted so badly to shift and rip him apart for daring even to breathe the same air as her.
Michael was the Alpha of one of the packs close by, his territory is large but not as extensive or wealthy as ours. He has always been in competition with us in business but our packs are allies so no one could attack.
“Dean attacked my borders yesterday, he’s gathering an army and we have to stop him,” He informed me. Michael and I had a common enemy so we worked together to defend the packs in this region.
After discussing strategy. We retired to bed however, I didn’t go to my suite right away. I opened my so-called mate’s room as her scent was enticing me. I took in her perfect form. She is beautiful and the fact that Ward wanted her badly made me hate her more. Her long lashes fluttered and I thought she will wake up but she didn’t. I moved closer and crouched down, her lips were slightly pouted and she looked like she was having a distressing dream so I stroked her hair and she inhaled.
Why does she have to be overwhelmingly appealing? Damn, this woman. I got out of the room before my Lycan could take over and fuck her right there.
Caliana’s POV
I woke up feeling calm today, there were remnants of his fragrance. Did the cruel Alpha come last night? After getting ready for the day, I went out of my room for breakfast. I found the brothers on the table, and as usual, no one except the second brother smiled at me.
“Daddy!” We turned at the small voice and the little girl I saw a few days ago ran to Alpha Edward, is that his daughter? To say I was shocked is an understatement. I didn’t know he had a child. The Alpha smiled at her and my heart almost leaped out of my chest, I’d never seen him smile before and it was breathtaking! He had perfect white teeth. I found myself smiling as I watched them interact lovingly. The girl turned to me and beamed,
“Dad! It’s the beautiful lady I told you about,” She got off Alpha Edward’s lap and came to me, extending her arms so that I could carry her, and I did, placing her on my lap.
“Hi, cutie,” I smiled. She’s too cute with blonde pigtails and a pretty little face.
“I’m Love, what’s your name again… No, don’t tell me, it’s Caliana!” She exclaimed when she got the name. I couldn’t help but smile at her. I felt eyes on me but I only focused on the cutie in my arms.
“You have the most beautiful name, and you can call me, Cali,” I said, matching her energy. We interacted a bit when she said;
“I’m my father’s love, that’s why he named me Love,” She beamed, and my eyes roamed to the cruel Alpha, his gaze was fixed on his daughter and I saw affection in his obnoxious eyes. Love jumped off my lap to greet the rest of her family and they doted on her.
After breakfast, I went to my room, and Love peeked through the door, ” Come in!”
The little princess sauntered in and jumped on the bed.
“Wanna go to the waterfalls with me?” She asked with a pout.
“Hmm, where is that?” I asked.
“It’s not far from here, like 2 kilometers, Dada said he’ll take me but he’s busy, again,” She pouted with a sad expression on her face. I cup her cheeks.
“I’ll go with you,” She squealed and did a small dance, seeing her happy satisfied me for some reason.
We went to the waterfalls and it was amazing, I could stay up here all day, however, the little princess was bored so we went to her huge fort for a tea party. She had so much in here, including fake tiaras, that we wear.
“Pass the sugar, please,” I passed the bowl and she added two cubes to her small white cup.
“I’m so glad you are marrying my father,” She sighed. I squinted my eyes, no one said anything about marriage.
“Who told you that?” I inquired, her eyes suddenly looked agitated as if she’s been caught doing something bad. I smiled to ease her and she put her little hands on her lab,
“I know I’m not supposed to eavesdrop but I did and uncle told Dad that you have to marry in a few days,” She cheered and I got to my feet.
“What!”
She jumped, frightened by my outburst and I immediately settled down. Inhaling deeply, I got on my knees
“I’m sorry Princess, I was just in shock, no one mentioned any wedding,” I said calmly, she smiled again,
“It’s okay. I’m sure you’ll look beautiful like Barbie! As in you already look like her, except for the hair!” Oh honey, if only she knew. Why was the Alpha agreeing to this? Being his Luna was different from marriage, as a Luna, I could get out but marriage binds people together for life and I don’t plan on staying here for long. I had to refuse this, it wasn’t part of the deal they made with Vince. I should call home to discuss it.
I can’t marry a man who hates me, Alpha Edward doesn’t even recognize my presence and fraternizes with that lover of his in public! Tears welled in my eyes and before they could fall, I wiped them.
“Do you want to dance with me?” My sorrows seemed to dissipate when the little girl spoke.
“I didn’t know you have a speaker out here,”
“Yep, my uncles Marcos and Marcus built it for me so I’m well connected,” She said proudly and I caressed her cheek.
Love and I were having so much fun to realize it was getting dark outside. I gasped and grabbed her hand.
