She bowed and rushed off as Annabelle clicked her fingers at a passing waiter who rushed over but as he passed Blake, he tripped on something and spilled a few drinks of red wine over me.
“I am so sorry Luna!” He got down on his knees and looked at the floor “I didn’t mean to, please forgive me”
“It’s fine” I told him “Please get up, I’ll just go clean off”
That stupid b*tch tripped him on purpose, I said to Ava who was growling and begging for control to rip her face off
I grabbed one of the hand towels and wet it so I could wash the parts of my dress that had been spilled on but the red wine was setting in and I thought it was a perfect excuse to leave the party so I went to walk out of the bathroom, only to be stopped by Blake and her stupid jerk friends.
“Are you okay?” Blake smiled at me “That server should consider himself lucky you’re so… so kind, if I were Luna and he’d spilled on me, I’d have had him thrown in the dungeons”
“Well it’s fortunate you’re not the Luna then, isn’t it”
“Come now” Blake smiled and held up a case “Don’t be so testy, I come bearing gifts, think of it as a peace treaty, I have been a little rude since we met and I wanted to show you how much I think of you”
The other girls smiled and exchanged glances but Blake ignored them and shoved the case into my hand
“Open it”
I frowned and opened the case to see a very pretty silver necklace.
“It’s fake of course” Blake assured me “But still as beautiful as the real thing, why don’t you try it on?”
“I’m already wearing a necklace, another time perhaps”
I had no intention of ever wearing a gift from this girl.
I went to walk around the girls but they blocked me
“How rude” The girl, I didn’t know the name of commented “First you steal a girls boyfriend and now you won’t even accept a gift from her, when she’s trying to make amends, not a very gracious person are you?”
“Heather please” Blake touched her friend’s shoulder “I understand, really I do. She’s not used to fine jewelry. I bet she’s never had so much as a ring before meeting the prince’s but you could at least take a look at it”
I sighed and placed the case on the bench “Fine” I said “I will try it on”
That was my mistake, I pulled up the silver chain and screamed as it burnt into my skin.
I threw the chain away, peeling off strips of my skin in the process as tears filled my eyes.
“Whats wrong?” Heather smiled “Isn’t silver what slaves wear?”
“What is wrong with you!” I shouted
“Like I said” Blake smirked “Just a token to show you what I think of you, Koda is mine, I’m the only one who can please him and when he gets bored of you, he’ll come running back to me”
“You’re crazy!” I shouted and barged passed the girls who were laughing.
I rushed out of the party crying but he my guards , who’d been waiting by the front doors, saw me, they rushed over, looking alarmed but I ignored them and jumped into the elevator.
MADELYNS POV
“Luna” One of the male guards shouted as he jumped into the elevator before the doors closed “What happened?”
He tried to reach for me but I cringed away
“Please Luna let me look” He pleaded “What happened, is this a silver burn, you need a healer”
“No, I just want to go home, please” I argued “Please, just press the lobby button”
He turned and pressed the button for the office suites and throne room instead and turned back to me looking upset
“What are you doing?”
“I’m sorry Luna but you have to report this to the prince’s” He tried to take my hands again to examine them but I pulled back once more
“Don’t touch me!” I growled “I don’t want to report anything, I just want to go home”
“You need a healer” He repeated as he looked down at my hands, that I was holding to my chest “How did it happen, did someone hurt you, please Luna you have to tell me so we can have them arrested”
“I don’t have to tell you anything!”
The elevator doors opened but I refused to get off, I tried to reach around the guard to press the button for the lobby but he blocked me.
“Move!”
“I can’t Luna, please, you have to get off, you need”
“MADELYN!” Jaxson called out, cutting off the guard mid sentence
“You linked him?!”
“I’m sorry Luna but I’m under orders” He stepped back “If you ever get injured, we have to tell the Alpha’s and Alpha Koda is out of the tower today so I had to report to Alpha Jaxson”
Jaxson reached the elevator and I looked up and noticed several people standing around looking at us with interest
“WHAT HAPPENED?!” He shouted at the guard as he stopped in front of me
“She came out of the party like this” The guard answered
“Sweetheart, let me look”
“I’m fine”
“GIVE ME YOUR HANDS!”
I jumped a little and held out my shaking hands for him.
“I’m sorry I yelled” He closed his eyes for a second and took a breath before he looked at me a again and examined my burns “How did this happen?”
I shook my head as tears fell down my cheeks, so he turned to the guard who looked away from me
“What happened?”
“I don’t know Alpha” He answered “She came running out of the party like this, should I call a healer?”
“No” I shook my head “Please, I just want to go home”
“I have some silver sealant in the suite upstairs” Jaxson hit the button and the doors closed “Why weren’t you inside the party?”
