“Damn it, Makay. Get a move on, we are going to be at least an hour late.” Tyson growls as he turns to face me.
I shrug my shoulders as I look around the room, I take my time to walk out of the motel room and I see a smirk on Hayden face.
“Just to inform you, Alpha Lincoln is aware of your stall tactics.” Hayden says, before he gets into the SUV and Tyson pushes me forwards.
None of them says a word as we continue our journey to Renegade territory and I keep my eyes on the scenery outside the SUV, time slowly ticking towards nine in the morning.
My eyes widen as I see the first signs of Renegade territory, mountains and forests as far the eye can see and I know that somewhere around here is the Palace. They have a territory of their own, but it connects to Renegade territory.
“What the Fuck.” I yell as a Leopard starts running next to the SUV, I know there are different kind of shifters. After all I am one of them, but I have never seen a Leopard and from the sounds of the others, neither have they.
Ryder stops the SUV in font of what looks like a Palace, but I know that this is not the King’s Palace and I see two Elders waiting for us at the bottoms of the stairs.
“I apologize, Elders. It seems that Makay was determined to make a bad first impression, I doubt a second would be any better.” Hayden says and I hear both Elders laugh.
“You better get a move on, Makay. Your team has been at for almost thirty minutes and your team Captain isn’t known for her patience. She is waiting right over there.” One of the Elders says and he points to my left.
“Get going, before she reports you. She is known to come up with the worst punishments and I have seen quite a few in my time.” The other Elder states and I take off in a slow jog towards the team Captain.
Meadow’s p.o.v.
I knew that Makay would be late and I had kind of expected him to be a no-show, but then I had seen the SUV pull up to the front.
Oh my, it looks like his Alpha didn’t trust him at all. He has four Warriors with him and I know that each of them will kick his ass, if they get the chance.
“Elder Chelsea, can you tell those four that I am doing fine? They are half of my social circle.” I tell her through the mind-link and I hear her remark to Makay.
No, she isn’t lying. I am actually the Champ around here, when it comes to coming up with punishments and dishing them out.
I walk away when Makay is almost near me and I don’t look over my shoulder to see if he is following me, he can does this the hard way if he wants to. I will write down everything in his file and I will closely monitor his progress, if he shows any.
“Get a move on, you are already two rounds behind.” I say, as I fall in line with the rest of my team. I had already been on the tracks through the forest, when Elder Chelsea informed me about Makay’s arrival.
Maryan volunteers to run an extra lap to get Makay to complete his run and we are already working on the obstacle course, when they finally join us.
“No stopping, this is not a school trip.” I growl the moment Makay stops to catch his breath.
We keep training until half an hour before lunch and I show Makay where his room is, “My room is across the hall, just in case.” I say, before I walk into my own room.
I take a quick shower, before I get dressed and sit down behind my small desk. I go over my studies just one more time, I know I can pass this exam with flying colors and it is the last one for me.
My team is already waiting for me, but there is no sign of Makay and without thinking about it twice I open the door to his room. I can hear the water running and I make a gesture to Maryan, who takes off with a smile on her face.
“Aargghh, What the Fuck!” We hear Makay exclaim through the crack of the door and I throw it open to see him in his birthday suit.
“Lunch is served in three minutes, get dressed. We are not at a spa.” I growl, before I slam the door shut.
I walk into the dining room to find a part of my team already at our table, their plates a bit fuller than usual and I know exactly why they did that.
Makay walks into the dining room and heads for the buffet, only to find that there is barely anything left and I hear Rebel chuckling in the back of my head.
“That is what you get for showing up late. If you had done as you were told, you would have known that there are set times for breakfast and lunch and that if you are late, there might not be anything left.” I say, the moment he sits down across the table from me.
I don’t say another word as I dig into my lunch and I see Maryan place a small plate in front of him. He looks at her for a moment, before he smiles at her and digs in.
Each member of my team places a small plate in front of him, as we eat our lunch and it is clear to see that it surprises him.
“We might not like to have you in our team, especially not when we know the reason why. However, we do take care of our own and having you pass out during training isn’t a good thing.” I say as I place a small plate in front of him.
“This afternoon, Maryan will be in charge. I have an exam to get to and she will write a full report on your behavior and anything else that she thinks I need to know.” I inform Makay.
Makay just listens to me, while eating his lunch and I wonder how long it will take before he is willing to change his train of thought on females.
