I had to admit, the clothes designed by my own studio were top-notch.
From the design to the craftsmanship to the fabric, everything was first-class. It was clear that Yura had put her heart into it.
The dress fit me perfectly, as though it had been custom-made. I walked out of the fitting room, thoroughly pleased.
Walking out, I heard a familiar, arrogant voice, “Bring me the Loe studio’s Alice Signature Collection dress.”
What a coincidence – it was Wendy.
And standing beside her was her lackey, Lilian. The same Lilian had teamed up with Wendy at the banquet to falsely accuse me of stealing something.
Wendy was a regular at Raveneaux Delux and probably a VIP customer. The salesperson immediately greeted her with a smile, “Ms. Crawford, please, come right in!”
Wendy repeated, “Bring me the Loe studio’s Alice Signature Collection dress.”
I understood what was going on. After I had mocked her at the Holbrook’s residence earlier for wearing a counterfeit dress, she had lost face in front of Richard and Caden. Now, she was here at Raveneaux Delux boutique, probably determined to get her hands on that Alice Signature Collection dress!
The salesperson hesitated, then said, “I’m sorry, Ms. Crawford, but that dress has already been bought.”
“Bought?” Wendy froze for a moment. “Who bought it?”
“Who dared to snatch the dress you liked, Ms. Crawford?” Lilian, acting all high and mighty, said with a haughty tone.
I slowly walked out, and the salesperson, glancing toward the fitting room, immediately pointed at me when she saw me. “It was this young lady.”
Wendy’s POV:
Following the direction the sales associate pointed, my gaze landed on a girl who looked as if she had stepped straight out of a fairy tale. She was wearing the pure white Alice Signature Collection gown.
The off-shoulder design revealed her alluring collarbones, while the mermaid hem hugged her tall, slender frame, accentuating her stunning curves.
She exuded elegance, grace, and poise, with just the right touch of playful charm. She was breathtakingly beautiful – so much so that it was impossible to look away.
It wasn’t until she turned around that I realized it was Rosaline.
She was stunning.
A fire of jealousy burned fiercely within me, threatening to consume my sanity. Pointing at Rosaline, I commanded the sales associate loudly, “I want this dress! Wrap it up for me!”
The sales associate hesitated. “But the young lady earlier said she wanted to buy it.”
I shot Rosaline a disdainful glance and asked coldly, “Did she pay for it?”
The sales associate faltered. “Not yet.”
“Then it’s not hers!” Lilian chimed in eagerly, pointing at me and rolling her eyes at the sales associate. “Do you even know who she is? She’s the Crawford family heiress. If you offend her, you can kiss your job goodbye!”
I lifted my chin high in arrogance. The Wild Pack family was one of the most prominent and influential in Rivemon, and I was Raymond’s beloved granddaughter. This sales associate didn’t have the right to defy me.
The color drained from the sales associate’s face, and I didn’t need to guess to know she had made her choice. Given the circumstances, she’d rather risk offending Rosaline than crossing me.
Approaching Rosaline nervously, the sales associate said, “Miss, someone else has purchased the gown you’re wearing. Could you please take it off?”
A mocking smile curved Rosaline’s lips. “Didn’t I already say I was buying it?”
“But … “
The sales associate hesitated, clearly torn over how to ask Rosaline to remove the dress. Before she could find the words, Lilian strutted over in her high heels and demanded, “Wendy wants this dress. Take it off immediately!”
“Oh?” Rosaline cast a calm glance my way and said coolly, “I saw this dress first, and I said I’d buy it first. Surely you understand the concept of ‘first come, first served,’ don’t you?”
“Do you even have the money to buy it?” Lilian snapped, glaring at her. “Do you have any idea how much this dress costs? You think you can afford it?”
“Whether I can afford it or not is none of your business,” Rosaline replied, clearly uninterested in arguing with Lilian. She simply pulled out a sleek black card and handed it to the sales associate. “Charge it to this, please.”
My eyes fell on the card in Rosaline’s hand, and a sudden sense of familiarity washed over me. That card, with its subtle golden sheen, looked oddly familiar.
I remembered that Caden had a card just like this.
Then it hit me – this type of black card is a globally limited edition. Even Raymond doesn’t have one, so there’s no way Rosaline could possess such a prestigious card on her own.
It must have been Caden who gave it to her.
I couldn’t accept that Caden would treat Rosaline so well.
The thought made me want to summon my wolf right then and there – to rip this infuriating Rosaline to shreds.
Unable to hold back, I grabbed the sales associate’s hand just as she was about to take the card and shouted, full of arrogance, “I’ll pay double the price!”
Rosaline’s POV:
Crossing my arms, I shot Wendy an annoyed glance.
She was like an unrelenting shadow, always showing up to ruin my mood.
Even shopping for a dress, I couldn’t escape her. Just my luck.
I raised an eyebrow and said, “Ms. Crawford, haven’t you ever heard of ‘first come, first served’? This dress is mine. No matter how much you offer, I’m not giving it to you.”
“Do you even deserve to wear that dress?” Wendy glared at me, her eyes practically boring holes into me.
“Exactly! Such a gorgeous dress is wasted on someone like her!” Lilian sneered from the side. “This dress was made for Wendy. She’d look a thousand times better in it than you ever could!”
“Oh, you think I’m not worthy of it?” I let out a mocking laugh, my eyes drifting to the outfit Lilian was wearing. “Well, at least I can tell the difference between authentic pieces and cheap knockoffs.”
“You … ” Wendy’s face turned an ugly shade of red, her anger making her look like she might faint on the spot.
Still glaring, Wendy sneered, “Do you think you have the right to mock me? Do you actually believe you’re Caden’s fiancée? D*mn! Mrs. Holbrook doesn’t even acknowledge you, and Caden’s only interested in you because you’re a novelty to him. Do you think he’d ever marry a country bumpkin like you?”
“Rosaline, Wendy has made up her mind about this dress. Be smart and take it off!” Lilian barked as she stepped forward, reaching to yank the gown off me.
“What do you think you’re doing?” I snapped, fury igniting inside me like wildfire.
She was unbelievable – trying to rip the dress off me in broad daylight?
In Frostmoore, I was the one who bullied others. No one dared to lay a finger on me.
I grabbed Lilian’s wrist and gave it a sharp shove.
An unexpected surge of Alpha strength burst out of me. Lilian stumbled backward, rolling and tumbling across the floor, eventually landing in a heap over ten meters away.
“You’ve gone too far!”
Lilian scrambled to her feet, preoccupied with fixing her hair and straightening her clothes, seemingly oblivious to how strong my shove had been.
I looked at her coldly, feeling a mix of amusement and exasperation.
Lilian’s pack was fairly well-known in Rivemon. Usually, she flaunted her arrogance under Wendy’s wing, so there was no way she’d let this humiliation slide.
Sure enough, after tidying her hair, Lilian immediately turned on the sales associate, yelling, “Why are you just standing there? Hurry up and call someone to take that dress off of her!”
“Ms. White, Ms. Crawford, I’ll go get the manager right away.” The sales associate, caught between Wendy’s domineering presence and my unwillingness to back down, could only apologize softly as she hurried off to bring the manager.
Wendy snorted coldly. “Well, don’t just stand there. Go get the manager already!”
I calmly walked over to a nearby sofa and sat down.
Wendy acted like she owned this store, confident that the manager would side with her and kick me out.
What a ridiculous fantasy.
When she saw me lounging casually on the sofa, Wendy stormed over, glaring down at me with disdain. “Rosaline, I’ll give you one last chance. Take off that dress and hand it over now, or when the manager gets here and throws you out, don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
Ignoring her taunts, I took out my phone and sent a quick message to Yura.
Seeing me on my phone, Wendy gritted her teeth and sneered, “Don’t think that texting Caden to bail you out will make me back off. I’m not letting you off the hook today!”
“All right,” I replied with a faint smile, putting my phone away.
About ten minutes later, the manager of Raveneaux Delux, Dale Willment, arrived in a rush.
“Mr. Willment!” Wendy opened her mouth to speak, but Dale didn’t even glance at her, walking straight past her as if she didn’t exist.
Instead, he stopped in front of me, his demeanor respectful. “Ms. Sinclair, good afternoon.”
I cast a casual glance at Wendy, who was staring in disbelief, then turned my gaze back to Dale. “Mr. Willment, is this how your store conducts business?”
