Chapter 27 – Her Pureblood Alpha

“You … what are you trying to do?”

Deanna’s POV:

Luis narrowed his eyes. His words came out low and sharp.

“Deanna, I told you to stay away from him.”

Before I could answer, he bent down, grabbed my waist, and pressed his burning lips hard against mine.

He lingered on the curve of my lips, teasing them with rough insistence, every move firm and edged with punishment.

The sharp scent of pine mixed with his unique Alpha presence, flooding my senses until I felt light-headed.

His kiss shifted from heavy to light, sometimes gentle, sometimes demanding, leaving me struggling to catch my breath.

Instinctively, I tried to push him away, but the moment my hands touched his chest, he caught my wrists and pinned them behind me with one hand.

The move forced my body to arch against him, my back curving tight like a bow pressed to his chest.

Desperate, I tried to lift my foot to fight back, but he caught it right away. A moment later, his legs locked mine in place.

Now I couldn’t move at all.

Lost in the chaos, I couldn’t tell what was real anymore. All I could do was take his kiss.

I already knew how dangerous his skill at kissing could be.

The longer it went on, the more out of control Luis became.

His hand slipped under the hem of my nightgown, the heat of his touch sending a shiver through me. My senses snapped back.

“Luis, let me go! Let go!” I cried.

He looked down at me, his eyes burning, his voice rough and husky like gravel. “Deanna, you’re a bad girl.”

Then, with a sudden motion, his hand came down in a sharp smack – not hard, but enough to shock me still.

My whole body froze, my face blazing hot.

Scumbag! How could he do this to me!

I choked back my tears and blurted, “Jake just showed up. I didn’t know he was coming.”

“I don’t want to hear another man’s name from your lips tonight,” Luis cut me off coldly.

His arm shot out and lifted me up, pressing me against the wall.

My legs wrapped around his waist before I could think, my arms circling his neck as if my body had a mind of its own.

Luis looked down at me. His eyes were sharp and burning. In the next moment, he yanked off my jacket and tossed it to the floor.

Underneath, my pink satin nightgown clung to me, leaving a huge area of the skin before my chest exposed in the cool air.

I saw his throat tighten as he swallowed. His hand, hot to the touch, slid across my skin inch by inch, leaving waves of shivers in its wake.

“Tell me, Deanna,” his voice came rough and low, “was it me or him who made you feel something?”

My lips parted, but my throat was so dry that no sound came out – just a broken whimper.

I felt like a ship lost at sea, tossed again and again by the storm he stirred inside me, unable to take back control.

That night, Luis was wild, almost unhinged. He claimed me with a force that left no room for escape.

The first round was against the wall by the door. His strength was so overwhelming it felt like he wanted to press me into his very bones.

Then it was the couch, then the bed. Each time filled with raw hunger and reckless pleasure.

By the middle of the night, my body gave out.

My eyes grew too heavy to hold open.

My last fading thought before I passed out was the heat of his body and the steady rhythm of his relentless pounding.

The next morning, blinding sunlight pierced through the curtains, dragging me awake.

My whole body ached as if I’d been taken apart and put back together again.

I tried to move my fingers, but a strong arm lay heavy around my waist, locking me in place. I couldn’t move.

I turned my head. Luis’s face was right there, close enough to touch.

In an instant, flashes of last night’s scene rushed back – every moment, every breath, too vivid to deny.

Luis and I … We had crossed that line again.

The first time had been because of a drug. The second was out of debt and gratitude. But last night? Last night, I was fully awake. And I hadn’t really resisted.

I had to admit it – I didn’t hate Luis.

In fact, his strength, his body, and the way he touched me drew me in.

I locked my eyes on him.

His dark hair was tousled, his features perfect as if carved by an artist’s hand. His lashes fanned across his cheeks, and his lips carried a faint red tint. Sleeping, he looked less like the fierce Alpha and more like a lion at rest, the danger tucked away.

My gaze drifted lower to his collarbone, pale and sharp.

I froze. Red marks covered the skin – marks I had left when I lost control.

My cheeks burned hot, and I quickly tried to look away.

Before I could look away, I felt him shift against me. His lashes fluttered, and the corner of his lips curved in the faintest smile.

My heart jumped. He’s awake?

My chest tightened. I quickly shut my eyes, ready to fake sleep. But before I could pull it off, Luis suddenly rolled over, pinning me beneath him in one swift move. His cool, crisp scent wrapped around me, stealing my breath.

One arm braced beside my head, the other still locked around my waist. His eyes stared down at me, steady and unyielding.

“You’re awake,” I stammered, my voice shaky. “Why didn’t you say something?”

Luis’s POV:

With my eyes closed, I could still feel Deanna watching me.

Her presence brushed against me, curious and cautious, like a feather teasing my skin.

A smile tugged at my lips when I realized this.

Before she could stare any longer, I flipped over and pinned her beneath me. “So, checking me out first thing in the morning? What – already hooked on me?”

Her face turned red the second she got caught. “I thought … I thought maybe someone broke into my place.”

My eyes lit with amusement.

Last night, the mess between her and Jake really got under my skin. Even my wolf almost slipped out of control.

But holding her through the night, feeling her soft body pressed against mine, all that anger faded away.

Both of us were bare. Skin against skin, I could feel her warmth sink deep into me.

Deanna shifted uncomfortably, her face flushing hotter. “I need to get dressed. You … you have to get off me.”

She tried to roll away, reaching for the towel at the side of the bed.

Like I’d let her escape that easily. I pulled her back into my arms, locking her waist tight.

“You still haven’t answered me. “Between him and me, who excites you more?”

She froze, then spoke with care. “Last night, Jake was waiting at my door. I didn’t give him a chance. I’ve broken up with him. For good.”

Hearing her say “for good” lit a spark of joy inside me, though I kept my face calm.

My fingers brushed across her lips as I asked in a low voice, “If you’re done with him, why didn’t you push him away when he leaned in?”

“I told you, I don’t know. I even slapped him. And … well … I didn’t slap you.”

Her voice trailed off, barely louder than a whisper.

“So that means you think I’m better than him?”

Deanna’s POV:

I looked at Luis and couldn’t help grumbling inside.

Why does this guy love to compare everything?

I gave a half-hearted grunt as a reply.

To my surprise, the second he heard it, Luis’s smile lit up like snow melting under the first spring sun.

He lowered his head and brushed a kiss against my forehead. “You said it yourself.”

Huh?

What did I say?

Before I could figure it out, his lips moved from my forehead to the tip of my nose, then found my mouth.

At first, the kiss was soft and slow. But soon it grew hotter, fervent, turning into a full-on kiss.

“Mmm … “

The kiss left me weak, my body trembling. I could only cling to his shoulders, a soft whimper escaping my lips.
