Life’s Spiced Up with Some Werewolf Reads

Chapter 6 – Alpha Killian

Vladimir raised an eyebrow at me, waiting for what I had to tell him, silently letting me know that he saw the woman walking out of the room.

“Eleanor De Luca.” I said, looking at the woman as I saw her speaking to Liana who looked at me. I nodded, letting her know that she was clear before I looked at Vladimir. “I want to know everything that you can find about the woman.”

Vladimir looked at her for a second before nodding as the two of us walked out of the house. Her masked scent stuck in my head, making me frown before we got inside the car.

Let’s see what you’re hiding, malyshka…

Eleanor:

It took everything in me not to run away from the Alpha as I just realized that I lied to him.

Not only that, but the fact that he had hired me as his personal maid scared the life out of me.

My heart raced against my ribcage as I stood in front of the woman, Liana, as she looked me up and down as if I was some kind of dirty pest.

Well, in comparison to the other girls, I currently was.

Each one of them was well dressed and prepared for this. I didn’t even have underwear on, not that I didn’t want to, I was just not allowed to; however, that wasn’t something that they would understand.

“Alpha Killian has requested that I be his personal maid.” I said, avoiding the woman’s eyes. “The two of us encountered one another earlier and he has informed me of his decision and said that he would be speaking to you about it.”

I didn’t even know how I managed to find my voice, but at this point, I really didn’t care. I just had to manage getting through this without much of a fuss, and only then would I be able to take a breath.

“He has requested that you,” she said, looking me up and down. She looked at my scraped knees and bloodied legs for a few seconds before looking me in the eye, “be his maid?”

“Yes,” I said, looking down at my feet, avoiding her eyes. I didn’t like being the center of attention, it was something that I feared. I blamed Elton for that, but then again, I didn’t want to worry about him right now.

The woman wrapped her hand around my chin, taking me off guard, and I flinched on reflex making the woman frown in confusion. She removed her hand quickly, noticing my flinch and shaking hand before she took a deep breath, motioning for me to do the same. The girls who stood behind us stilled completely, or if they were moving, I couldn’t feel them.

“How about we have the pack’s doctors check on your knees first, then I will guide you toward your duties. I will be speaking to Alpha Killian about the details and fill you in on your duties,” she said, her voice softening. I nodded, managing to compose myself before she smiled.

Her eyes hardened as she looked at the girls behind me then nodded. I looked at the girls over my shoulder and noticed that they walked in a straight line, following who looked like a leader who wore a black dress and apron. She had her hair tied in a bun, held her head high, and didn’t bother speaking as she walked.

“Where are they going?” I asked, and Liana smiled at me.

“They are heading to the shower. They would be cleaned and dressed before they are assigned to their duties. As for you, first, I want to know who you are, and how you got your knees injured. You would be taken to your room as I believe that Alpha Killian would be assigning you a different room. The other girls would be staying at the dorm, but you would be having different duties and for that, I would like to know the details of what the Alpha expects.” She said, and I nodded as she took a step forward.

My heartbeat seemed to calm down a bit, as did my breathing as I found myself relaxing. I wrapped my arm around myself and the two of us walked around the halls of the house. I couldn’t help but look around, growing somewhat curious about where I was.

This was the first time that I have been out of the house since my mother passed away.

When I was younger, I was allowed to go to a café with her where she would drink her coffee and read a book to me. The two of us would sit for a bit before we were taken back to the house. I was never allowed out of the house since then; however, I would often go and roam around the garden for an hour or so when I was younger. And then I would be instructed to head to my stable where my trainer would be waiting to train me how to show jump.

It was a sport that my father insisted that I learned. If anything, it was the ONLY sport that I was allowed to learn. However, Elton was quick to stop me from riding when the two of us were engaged.

To him, he wanted a woman who would be constantly ready for him. Therefore, me going out was cut to the hour that I was allowed to go and walk around the garden.

The house was filled with art, and I couldn’t help but admire the paintings that were hung on the walls.

“Do you like art?” Liana asked, breaking my train of thoughts. I jumped in surprise and tried not to flinch before composing myself and nodding.

“Yes, very much.” I said, answering her question shyly. She smiled and nodded before opening a door for me to walk through. I looked at what looked like a hospital bed, and two nurses and a doctor stood, smiling at us.
