Nycta looked at her sister with malice, her personal maids were a few steps away from them, thus they couldn’t hear their conversation.

She lifted her chin and looked at her sister sharply. She was stupid to feel bad for sending her back to Wolfdale Kingdom before. This woman should have stayed there and never stepped her feet in this kingdom or anywhere near her mate.
A flicker of anger in Rose’s eyes didn’t go unnoticed by Nycta. She knew her sister was mad because of the harsh word that she told her.
However, she couldn’t let her do whatever when it came to her mate. She wouldn’t sit silently and watch when her sister was actively trying to find a gap to sneak into her relationship with Dacre.
“My apologize, queen Nycta,” Rose said in small voice, she lowered her head, not to show her submission, but actually to hide the malice in her eyes. She was not born to be a follower, she was born to lead, that’s why she had a hard time to accept that her little sister held more power than her.
“It’s unfortunate because of this you have to postpone your meeting with alpha Logan, but don’t worry, I will arrange your meeting the moment you returned.”
The meaning behind it was very obvious and was not stupid not to catch it, but she needed to play her role without any mishap. She lifted her head and offered Nycta a grateful smile. “I will be very happy for that.”
That was the moment, where they were no longer saw each other as a sister and the situation became a competition to put down one another.

“That’s not a bold statement, but that’s a treason.” Dacre shifted his gaze toward his beta and Leonard immediately lowered his head. “Keep that thought to yourself.”
Rose was way smarter than Nycta, who was very innocent with the matter related to the court and its schemes, but Dacre liked her naivety.
Dacre kissed and hugged his pregnant mate one last time before he left and reassured her that The would return as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, in the River Creek pack, the people kept coming for food and Khaos used this opportunity to introduce Zuri subtly. They didn’t do anything flashy, but both of them helped with the distribution for an hour, as if to tell them the rumor that said Zuri was promised to Khaos was true and both of them were in a good relationship.
It would offset the bad rumor about Zuri was being the mate of the deceased alpha Xaden and her betrayal to her mate and her pack.
A few days later, Bryden and Ezra returned.
The last time, Zuri met with the two of them, it was not a pleasant encounter and now she was back training with Gayle again because Khaos was having a meeting with his beta.
“You don’t look happy to train with me,” Gayle pointed out.
Zuri didn’t even try to hide it, as she sighed with feeling. “I want to train with Khaos.”

It was within their palm now. It was only a matter of time before they could have their hand on it. Everything went toward the right direction. Everything was perfect. After this, they only needed to get their hand on the Verity Stamp.
“No, it’s too risky to do twenty in one go. My magic users will not be able to pull it and more so, the risk of backlash will be very high and we will waste a decade of hard work if it failed.”
What Elijah meant with ‘failed’ was if Zuri died during the ritual. They indeed saw her as an object only. She was a Shell for them.
“Fine, fine.” Ezra nodded his head and touched his chin, he was deep in thought, but you would be able to see the gleam of happiness in his eyes, he was thrilled with this news. “Let’s do eight then.”
Meanwhile, Caiden, who watched his father so eager to inflict the curse on Zuri, didn’t say anything, but he looked trouble. He remembered the last time he saw the pain that Zuri had to go through and he didn’t think he had a heart to watch it again.
If he could have a say in this… he wanted them to stop, but of course, it was impossible. They had gone too deep in this revenge and Zuri was part of it.
They wouldn’t give her up. No matter what.
Caiden then tilted his head to look at Khaos, just like him, the alpha didn’t say anything about this matter. It was Rhett and Caiden, who initially explained the whole situation to Bryden
and Ezra.
Caiden wondered what Khaos was thinking now. They didn’t mention about the attachment between the lycan and the Shell. Moreover, Caiden didn’t think they would care much about that fact.
“Let’s do it tomorrow,” Ezra suggested eagerly. “There is no reason for us to delay this.”
“What are you going to do?” Caiden asked Khaos after the meeting. They went to the woods, where Zuri and Gayle had their training.
Ezra was so eager to meet with Zuri, but Khaos didn’t allow him to see her. He didn’t say much during the meeting and didn’t really say his consent for the ritual tomorrow either. They only assumed, because the alpha didn’t disagree, he was on board with it.
“Tomorrow will be the ritual,” Caiden said again, trying to gauge Khaos’s reaction.
“So be it.”
“Are you okay with that?”
Khaos glanced at him. “Is it important whether I am okay with it or not? This is what is supposed to happen.”
They lived for the revenge and logically, the completion of the beauty blood was a must. It was their top priority.
Caiden wouldn’t feel bad if he didn’t know Zuri personally, but they had spent months here in the pack and despite everything, he liked her, thus it was hard to simply watch when she had to go through the agony.
Therefore, it came as a surprise that Khaos didn’t seem to bother by it when he was so attached to her, but probably the alpha was very good at hiding his emotions.
“Khaos!” Zuri went to approach him when she noticed him, she was pinning Gayle to the ground, but immediately stood up to hug him.
“How’s your training?”
